About this role
This role sits within Preqin, a part of BlackRock. Preqin plays a key role in how we are revolutionizing private markets data and technology for clients globally, complementing our existing Aladdin technology platform to deliver investment solutions for the whole portfolio.
We are looking for an experienced, motivated sales team member who will be responsible for identifying, developing, and closing new subscription agreements with some of the largest and most reputable firms in the market, as well as, growing existing client contracts.
In this role, you will be responsible for strategic planning a designated sales territory and will be required to take full ownership within your jurisdiction. The role requires you to successfully meet sales agendas and exceed monthly net sales quotas. You will have the ability to make an immediate sales impact and to develop a strong pipeline within a set sales territory. Based on revenue generation, exemplary behavior, and strong organizational skills you will have the opportunity to develop a successful career at Preqin, and the wider Blackrock organization.
What you’ll be doing:
Manage the sales process from beginning to end, securing introductions with decision makers, achieving, and surpassing your sales quota.
Develop a pipeline of new business opportunities within a defined sales territory
Provide prospective new business clients with an understanding of Preqin’s products and offerings while developing new relationships with key stakeholders at each firm.
Collaborate with the Account Management division, that manages existing client relationships, and be ready to lead on upsell opportunities for new products and/or teams, and shape commercial discussions targeted at expanding value to the customer and Preqin
Provide clients and prospects with detailed proposals, product demonstrations, and consultations (in person preferred, or via phone).
Stay proactive in learning: Continuously build knowledge of our evolving solutions, features, and client use cases
What you’ll bring to us:
Proven sales experience in an account management and/or new business role (in a similar discipline preferred: financial services, alternative investments, B2B SaaS sales, solution selling)
Proven track record in hitting sales quota
Negotiation skills as it relates to renewal upsells, cross-selling, and additional product add-ons.
Working knowledge of the financial market data space, alternative assets, and financial services industries
