The Satcom Direct Government (SDG) Mil/Gov Sales Manager – Southern & Eastern Europe is responsible for managing existing key accounts and developing and winning new business in Southern and Eastern Europe, primarily to support the sale of satellite communications (SATCOM) equipment and airtime for Military & Government aircraft.

You will work closely with the EMEA Director, Global Government, to achieve your region's targets and objectives set each year. There is a mature, existing revenue stream that includes systems integrators, aircraft manufacturers, and government users. However, further growth is essential, particularly to support the new Aero products and services that SDG brings to market in 2025/6.

 How will you make a difference? 

  • Manage and lead the existing European Mil/Gov accounts across southern and Eastern Europe, which include Government Customers, MROs, Systems Integrators and Military Aircraft Manufacturers
  • Develop and grow the pipeline in partnership with the Business Development Lead
  • Use entrepreneurial ‘flair’ to create compelling and innovative commercial proposals
  • Oversee and grow the channel/reseller network, encompassing sales of both aero equipment and satellite airtime
  • Lead new product/services go-to-market plans and strategy development, particularly for unmanned platforms, Airborne ISR, VVIP aircraft and multi-role transport
  • Partner with various internal groups (e.g., Engineering, pricing, marketing) when developing new proposals and commercial offers
  • Represent SDG at various regional events, trade shows and conferences

Qualifications 

  • 3-5 years of B2B or B2G sales experience in a related field (e.g. Military or Aero Systems)
  • 2-4 years of experience within the Military and Government sector
  • Must be willing and able to travel to the office in Farnborough or Basel, as required
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
  • Must already be eligible to work and live in the UK or Switzerland

Preferred Skills, Experience, and Talents

  • Existing network in key countries, e.g., Spain, Italy, Poland and Greece
  • Prior experience in military satellite communications (SATCOM)
  • Previous experience in military aircraft systems/avionics
  • Candidates who have experience in selling or delivering aircraft modifications
  • Ability to speak another language, for example, Italian or Spanish
