Position Overview:

Assists in providing engineering, operational, and technical support for enterprise meeting spaces, live events, hybrid productions, virtual broadcasts, and integrated media environments. This role assists with configuring, operating, monitoring, and supporting end-to-end live production workflows, including audio reinforcement, video signal distribution, projection, playback, recording, streaming, camera systems, lighting coordination, and control-room operations. The role assists the technical lead during live events by executing production cues, coordinating technical disciplines, supporting presenter and talent requirements, and collaborating with production teams, venue personnel, and event stakeholders to maintain production continuity and service reliability. This position assists with in-person, live, hybrid, and virtual productions by validating system readiness, confirming signal paths, supporting source routing, and helping resolve technical issues in real time. Assists in applying knowledge of live media production systems, including digital audio consoles, equalization, dynamics processing, gating, compression, RF and wireless microphone systems, SDI, HDMI, fiber transport, frame rates, resolutions, video scalers, production switchers, projection systems, playback platforms, PTZ and live camera operation, camera maintenance, graphic operations, recording systems, and IP-based audio and video distribution. The role assists with maintaining working expertise in Dante audio networking, networked media routing, and integrated audio-visual (AV) infrastructure to support stable, high-quality delivery across complex live production and collaboration environments.
Monitors system performance, performs intermediate troubleshooting, and resolves technical issues involving audio, video, networked media devices, cabling, signal flow, and source routing. Working with limited supervision, this position performs routine engineering responsibilities, including system testing, equipment validation, configuration updates, preventative maintenance, and technical support for presenters, operators, and event stakeholders.
Assists in establishing engineering standards, documents technical findings, escalates complex issues as appropriate, and collaborates with team members, vendors, and venue staff to coordinate event and system requirements. The position contributes to successful event execution and stable media operations through technical support, effective problem solving, reliable service delivery, and consistent adherence to operational standards.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field

 

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

• 1 year recent relevant experience

 

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

• Intermediate ability to organize, prioritize, and execute multiple  engineering assignments, production support activities, and operational objectives in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment.

• Demonstrated ability to work independently with sound technical judgment while also collaborating effectively with engineering teams, operations staff, vendors, executives, and cross-functional stakeholders.

• Exceptional interpersonal communication skills with a service-first approach, including the ability to translate  technical issues into clear guidance for non-technical customers and senior stakeholders.

• Intermediate understanding of how media engineering responsibilities integrate with broader IT, infrastructure, event production, clinical, operational, and enterprise support functions.

• Intermediate knowledge of control systems, fixed-room technology, conferencing platforms, audio-visual signal flow, room automation, digital media routing, endpoint integration, and production support environments.

• Proven ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues with minimal supervision by performing root-cause analysis, evaluating multiple solution paths, applying corrective actions, and documenting outcomes.

• Ability to manage multiple projects, service requests, and live-event support needs while coordinating with technical personnel, departments, vendors, and business partners to maintain continuity of service.

• Proficient in safely operating corporate vehicles, transporting sensitive media and technical equipment, and following all safety, security, and operational requirements during travel and field support activities.

• Skilled in preparing, loading, securing, transporting, deploying, and validating media equipment for off-site events, executive meetings, productions, and field-based technical support.

• Ability to perform effectively in fast-paced, high-pressure environments while maintaining professionalism, technical accuracy, customer confidence, and attention to detail.

• Recognizes, escalates, and resolves complex or recurring issues within the engineering work area by applying advanced judgment, selecting appropriate solutions from established and emerging options, and recommending process improvements where appropriate.

Pay Range is $38.55 to $57.83 / hour

The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is only one component of Sutter Health’s comprehensive total rewards program. Eligible positions also include a comprehensive benefits package.
