At Reflect, you will be expected to move fast, have a lot of ownership and, most importantly, be able to effect change. If this excites you, we are interested in hearing about your best work and accomplishments across any domain and from any points in your life.

About the Role

We’re looking for a hands-on Marketing Director to lead Reflect Orbital’s marketing strategy and public presence as we bring our sunlight-on-demand satellite constellation to life. You’ll own our positioning, brand, and integrated marketing plan, translating complex technology into a clear, compelling story for customers, partners, and the public. Working closely with our Chief Strategy Officer and leadership team, you’ll set priorities, lead campaigns and launches, and build the capabilities needed to scale our marketing efforts.

This is a high-visibility leadership role for someone who can set the direction and execute: shaping how the world understands Reflect Orbital, growing demand, and connecting marketing efforts to business goals.

Responsibilities
  • Own the marketing strategy and roadmap, aligning audiences, positioning, campaigns, and priorities with company milestones and commercial goals

  • Lead integrated launches, events, conferences, and demos, setting objectives and coordinating teams from planning through execution and follow-up

  • Set creative direction and oversee production of marketing materials, including decks, one-pagers, launch assets, and social graphics; create and refine key assets directly

  • Own website strategy, content, and the customer journey, partnering with engineering and product teams to improve clarity, engagement, and conversion

  • Lead messaging and storytelling for announcements, campaigns, and executive communications, translating technical information into clear, accurate narratives

  • Own marketing budgets, resource allocation, and performance reporting; define success measures and use results to improve awareness, engagement, and qualified demand

  • Partner with PR and leadership on media strategy, press moments, and relationships with partners and creators, keeping external messaging accurate and consistent

  • Partner with business development to understand customer needs, shape go-to-market campaigns, and develop customer-facing materials that support the sales process

  • Own brand positioning and standards, ensuring a consistent voice and visual identity across all public-facing channels and materials

  • Lead social, content, photo, and video strategy; manage agencies and freelancers, and build and develop the marketing team as the company grows

  • Identify and test creative ways to grow awareness of Reflect Orbital’s mission, prioritizing opportunities with a clear audience, purpose, and measurable impact

Ideal Qualifications
  • 7+ years of progressive marketing experience, including ownership of strategy and integrated campaigns; experience leading a marketing function or team in a startup or fast-moving environment

  • Excellent writer and communicator with strong brand judgment, an eye for visual design, and the ability to make complex technical ideas accessible

  • Demonstrated success building brands and leading launches across digital, social, content, PR, and events, with clear evidence of business impact

  • Strategic and action-oriented, comfortable setting direction without a playbook and doing hands-on work alongside internal teams and external partners

  • Experience owning website strategy and performance; familiarity with Webflow, analytics, and marketing tools is a plus

  • Experience directing creative work and collaborating with designers, agencies, and freelancers; familiarity with Figma is a plus

  • Strong leadership and operating discipline, with experience managing budgets, developing people, influencing cross-functional partners, and delivering multiple priorities

  • Excited about space, energy, and building something that’s never been done before; experience marketing complex technology is a plus

Even if you don’t meet 100% of the above qualifications, we are likely still interested in hearing from you. Hiring exceptional individuals is our #1 priority, and we believe that exceptional people often have highly unusual backgrounds.

We are also interested in carving out unique roles for unconventional people that we are excited about working with.

Benefits

Reflect Orbital’s success will hinge on our team, which is why our compensation and benefits plan is designed to reward our employees and support their families as generously as we’re able.

  • Broad choice of medical/dental/vision coverage, Reflect covers 100% of each base-policy

  • Access to HSA, FSA, and 401K

  • Unlimited paid time off

  • Healthy lunches provided daily

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
