Hadrian - Manufacturing the Future

Hadrian is building autonomous factories that help aerospace and defense companies manufacture rockets, satellites, jets, and ships up to 10x faster and up to 2x cheaper. By combining advanced software, robotics, and full-stack manufacturing, we are reinventing how America produces its most critical parts.

We recently raised $260 million dollar Series C to accelerate this mission. We are excited to be launching a new Factory in Mesa, Arizona, a 270,000 square foot facility that will create 350 new jobs immediately. We are opening a new headquarters to support thousands of future hires, launching Hadrian Maritime to serve naval production, and introducing a Factory-as-a-Service model that delivers complete systems instead of individual parts.

Hadrian works with startups, Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers, and major defense contractors across space, shipbuilding, and aviation to scale production, reduce costs, and accelerate delivery on mission-critical programs. We are backed by leading investors including Lux Capital, Founders Fund, and Andreessen Horowitz. Our fast-growing team is united by a shared mission to reindustrialize American manufacturing for the 21st century and beyond!

About this role:

We are in search of a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Go-to-Market team, interpreting customer designs, providing DFM feedback, and working with sales and operations to turn requirements into manufacturable solutions.

Key responsibilities:

  • Design for Manufacturability- Perform DFM analyses using Hadrian's internal software tools to determine compatibility with Hadrian's factories and make recommendations to the customer for cost and quality optimization.

  • Cost Analysis- Utilize part technical information to generate costing models and develop customer-facing proposals.

  • Internal Tool Development – Partner with stakeholders to strategize, plan, and implement software and manufacturing solutions, acting as the internal customer to ensure tools meet real production needs.

  • Marketplace- Gather and analyze industry data to help steer Hadrian’s automation technology and manufacturing market decisions.

  • Monitor factory performance to help optimize Hadrian’s software, ensuring quality standards, process integrity, and alignment with customer requirements.

  • Apply strong knowledge of materials, finishes, and manufacturing terminology to evaluate designs and ensure accurate, high-quality production outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related STEM field; in lieu of a degree, 4+ years of manufacturing experience in a high-intensity production environment will be considered

  • 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing role, with a strong preference for candidates who have led impactful projects

  • Proficiency in GD&T and demonstrated ability to interpret technical drawings

  • Proficiency with CAD tools and the ability to translate designs into manufacturable solutions

  • Experience developing and implementing production processes and systems in high-growth or fast-paced environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with basic software programming (SQL, MATLAB, Python)

  • Hands-on experience with manufacturing tools such as CNC machines, sheet metal brakes, or lathes

  • Personal or project portfolio demonstrating applied manufacturing skills, or active involvement in manufacturing-related clubs or extracurriculars

Compensation

For this role, the target salary range is $85,000 - $110,000 (actual range may vary based on experience and performance).

This is the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
