Manager Strategy EPD

for its global Pharma Division Headquarter based in Allschwil- Basel.

As part of the Strategic Management Office (SMO) within Abbott’s Established Pharmaceuticals Division (EPD) in Basel, Switzerland, the Project Manager, Strategy will play a pivotal role in shaping and supporting strategic initiatives that drive meaningful impact across the organization. This role offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative, purpose-driven environment, with a focus on:

  • Leading and coordinating cross-functional strategic projects

  • Creating clear, compelling executive-level presentations for EPD and Abbott senior leadership

  • Partnering with diverse teams to support the delivery of strategic priorities across the division

You’ll be empowered to manage projects from planning to execution, engage with stakeholders at all levels, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

Core Job Responsibilities:

Lead and Coordinate Strategic Projects

  • Design and manage project governance structures, timelines, and workflows

  • Facilitate idea generation and collaborative problem-solving to address root causes

  • Drive inclusive data collection and analysis across regions and functions

  • Align insights and recommendations with key stakeholders

  • Prioritize initiatives that align with EPD’s strategic goals and capabilities

Execute and Implement Strategic Initiatives

  • Lead cross-functional teams with empathy and clarity to implement impactful solutions

  • Define and track project KPIs in partnership with stakeholders

  • Prepare and deliver updates for senior leadership in a concise, engaging format

  • Support teams in resolving implementation challenges and scaling successful pilots

Create Executive-Level Presentations

  • Understand and anticipate the needs of senior leaders, including regular and ad-hoc requests

  • Craft compelling narratives with clear framing, actionable insights, and strategic recommendations

  • Translate complex data into meaningful, accessible insights

  • Collaborate across geographies and functions to deliver high-quality outputs under tight timelines

Drive Continuous Improvement

  • Proactively identify opportunities to create value and improve processes

  • Inspire action across the organization to better serve our customers and communities

Minimum Education:

  • Graduate degree in Science, Economics, Engineering, or Business

  • Post-graduate in business education (MBA) a plus

Minimum Experience/Training Required:

  • 5-7 years of total experience required

  • Experience with top tier consulting firm (2-3 years)

  • Experience in handling large and complex data analysis and project management tools

  • Prior experience in pharma (esp. in the generics space) and emerging markets will be highly preferable

Skills and Competencies Required

  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to synthesize data and draft story boards

  • Background or experience working in a corporate reporting role preferred

  • Expertise in working with and analyzing various Pharmaceutical databases preferred, e.g., IMS, IQVIA

  • Strong stakeholder management skills

  • In-depth knowledge of PowerPoint

  • Ability to handle pressure in a dynamic environment

  • Ability to handle complex and diverse business situations

  • Strong project management skills to ensure smooth execution
