This is a high-impact, cross-functional leadership role that demands outstanding organizational, communication, and executional skills. You will lead initiatives from concept through delivery, ensuring every strategy is operationally sound and aligned with IHOP’s growth objectives

This role requires a hands-on leader—someone who can roll up their sleeves, make informed decisions, and think critically about what’s truly feasible inside the four walls of a restaurant. You’ll champion initiatives that are practical, scalable, and impactful

Reporting directly to the Director of Core Operations, you’ll be instrumental in executing IHOP’s menu strategy. As the brand enters its next wave of transformative growth, this is your opportunity to shape the future of a beloved American icon—at scale

Responsibilities:

  • Drive Cross-Functional Execution: Lead cross-functional teams to implement and integrate key programs that enhance efficiency, boost sales, increase profitability, and elevate guest satisfaction

  • Continuously Improve Performance: Evaluate current operations and recommend data-driven improvements to enhance overall performance.
  • Communicate with Impact: Deliver clear, consistent updates to cross-functional team on program progress, milestones, and outcomes.
  • Advise Franchise Leadership: Serve as a trusted advisor to Franchise Operations leadership, guiding the planning and execution of high-impact initiatives.
  • Champion Culture of Excellence: Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and operational excellence across the organization.
  • Target Base Salary 120k+ based on experience

Skills & Requirements:

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, or related field. Minimum 5+ years rooted in deep restaurant operations, preferably with a national restaurant chain. Ideally, you have worked closely with Menu teams – taking an idea from scratch to serving the menu item to a guest
  • Operational Mastery: Deep knowledge of the various components of running an excellent Back of House, with a proven track record of making high-quality decisions to improve kitchen operations
  • Project Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead complex initiatives with precision. Strong organizational, communication, and leadership capabilities
  • Industry Expertise: Strong preference for candidates with experience in restaurant, hospitality, or multi-unit retail environments
  • Analytical & Financial Acumen: Skilled in business analytics, process optimization, root cause analysis, project management, and change leadership
  • Executive Influence: Confident in advising senior leaders on operational strategy, performance improvement, and turnaround initiatives
  • Executional Agility: Thrives in fast-paced, cross-functional environments. Comfortable working in-office and in the field. Willing to travel 20% to stay connected to frontline operations
  • Bias for Action: Operates effectively in ambiguity. Makes sound decisions with imperfect information and adapts quickly based on feedback

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
