A little about us

The Creative Lab team sits at the core of how our brand shows up to the world. We are a fast-paced group of creative makers, thinkers, and strategists dedicated to defining Yahoo's cultural footprint. Within Creative Lab, our team creates original social content and partners with influencers and creators to build authentic connections with our audiences.

Position Overview

We're looking for a culture-obsessed creative to manage Yahoo's influencer partnerships and content creation as our Manager of Influencer & Social Creative.

Sitting at the intersection of brand, culture, and the internet, this role will shape how Yahoo shows up across social, turning real-time moments into memorable content that people actually want to engage with. You'll bring a social-first mindset to everything you do by thinking in memes, writing with precision, and executing ideas at the speed of culture.

You're equal parts creative thinker, maker, and connector. You don't just identify trends. You're early to them. You don't just write briefs. You help craft narratives that people want to participate in. You don't just manage content. You make the internet care. You instinctively see creators as collaborators, and know how to build ideas with them.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end influencer collaborations, from creator casting through briefing, execution, and campaign delivery.

  • Write and guide sharp creator briefs and ensure ideas are executed at a high creative standard.

  • Build strong partnerships with influencers and serve as a trusted collaborator throughout the creative process.

  • Partner with Creative Lab teammates and agency partners to develop and execute Yahoo's social content across platforms, including short-form video, memes, copy, reactive content, and campaigns.

  • Identify emerging trends, formats, and cultural moments, then translate them into actionable ideas with speed and strong creative judgment.

  • Balance social-first, lo-fi content with strategic, high-impact storytelling.

  • Partner cross-functionally with Communications, Brand Marketing, Product Marketing, Legal, and agency partners to bring campaigns to life.

  • Be a thoughtful creative partner who gives and receives feedback with humility.

  • Be comfortable appearing on camera as needed.

  • Leverage AI tools to accelerate creative ideation, streamline content development, and improve creative workflows while maintaining a high bar for quality and originality.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in social media management, content creation and influencer management.

  • Proven ability to develop and execute culturally relevant creator campaigns.

  • Experience writing creative briefs and collaborating directly with creators to develop compelling content.

  • Exceptional writing and editorial skills with a strong point of view on voice and tone.

  • Deep understanding of internet culture, platform dynamics, creator ecosystems, and evolving social behaviors.

  • Strong creative instincts paired with strategic thinking.

  • Ability to move quickly without sacrificing quality or clarity.

  • Experience working cross-functionally and leading creative collaboration.

  • A portfolio that demonstrates original creative thinking, excellent execution, and measurable business impact.

  • A strong point of view on what makes content culturally relevant (and what makes it cringe).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working for or with a major consumer technology or media brand.

  • On-camera or creator experience with a strong understanding of what makes content resonate.

  • Familiarity with social listening, analytics, and performance measurement tools.

Work Requirements

  • Occasional travel and weekend work required.

What Success Looks Like

  • Build highly collaborative relationships across Brand Marketing, Product Marketing, Communications, Legal, agency partners, and creators that enable fast, effective creative execution.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
