Manager I, Solutions Portfolio - Document Scanners
Position Profile
The Manager I, Business Portfolio is a subject matter expert with deep knowledge of a specific portfolio and/or category. This may include expertise in processes, functions, technologies, equipment, materials, or specific solutions depending on the technology group.
This role is responsible for driving revenue and gross profit performance, as well as developing and executing portfolio strategies that support Ricoh North America’s sales channels for document scanners. The manager will focus on optimizing the document scanner portfolio performance, enhancing product value, and strengthening market positioning while supporting audience acquisition and sales engagement.
The successful candidate will uncover key insights and develop objective-driven product strategies aligned with customer needs and business goals. Reporting to the Director, Product Management, this is a senior-level role requiring industry leadership and recognized expertise in the assigned portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the document scanner portfolio technologies and relationships with sales teams, marketing, third-party partners, and industry stakeholders.
- Drive revenue, gross profit, and sales KPIs for the assigned portfolio.
- Lead go-to-market (GTM) strategy, including successful product launches, lifecycle management, and long-term portfolio planning.
- Align solutions and technologies with market requirements, customer needs, and overall company strategy.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as supply chain, training, legal, IT, and operations.
- Execute portfolio strategies aligned with customer segmentation and channel requirements.
- Monitor sales KPIs and partner with sales and marketing operations to achieve performance targets and mitigate shortfalls.
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) liaison for RCL and other operating companies.
- Apply RISE methodology, including voice-of-customer insights and Gemba activities, to understand real-world needs.
- Serve as the primary expert for the portfolio, including competitive analysis, forecasting, and supply chain considerations.
- Represent Ricoh as an industry evangelist at conferences, trade shows, and customer events.
- Manage financial budgets for the assigned portfolio.
- Partner with Program Managers to provide insights that drive strategic initiatives.
- Ensure business requirements are incorporated into all product initiatives.
- Stay informed on industry trends, innovations, and competitive developments, particularly in digital technology and e-commerce.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in product or solution management.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience within the relevant business or technology domain.
- Sales experience or CDIA+ certification is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong goal-setting and strategic planning abilities with a focus on measurable outcomes.
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Ability to interpret both verbal and non-verbal customer feedback.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including executive-level presentations.
- Experience presenting business and technology cases to executive leadership and C-level stakeholders.
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and build relationships at all organizational levels.
- Ability to develop compelling product narratives and presentation materials (e.g., PowerPoint).
- Strong research and analytical skills, including experience with customer research methods and data analysis.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel preferred.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
- Primarily office-based environment with standard lighting, temperature, and noise levels.
- Work involves interpreting and applying complex information and delivering diverse outputs.
- Primarily sedentary role with occasional standing, walking, bending, and lifting (typically under 10 lbs).
- Requires basic physical dexterity for computer and office equipment use.
- Travel requirement: approximately 10% or more.
