Essential Functions of the Job:
- Lead execution of assigned video projects, including on-location shoots, studio setups, and virtual recordings.
- Manage logistics, budgeting, and scheduling for in-person and remote productions.
- Coordinate with freelance editors and designers during post-production to maintain creative and technical quality.
- Coordinate and track production assets across departments.
- Oversee the collection and transfer of footage to the Media Manager, ensuring files are properly labeled, logged, and archived.
- Partner with internal stakeholders and content leads to align productions with Academy and Oscars campaigns, messaging, and YouTube content strategy.
- Source, hire, and manage freelance crews and vendors as needed.
- Uphold the Academy’s standards of professionalism, inclusion, and storytelling excellence across all projects.
- A bachelor’s degree in Film, Media Production, Communications, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 3-5 years of professional experience producing video content, with strong field production and on-set leadership skills.
- Proven experience managing crews, budgets, and production logistics for multi-camera shoots.
- Experience producing and optimizing content for YouTube channels, including application of YouTube SEO, metadata optimization, audience growth strategies, and performance analytics to inform content decisions.
- Working proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop), YouTube Studio, and analytics dashboards (TubeBuddy, vidIQ, Google Analytics).
- Strong knowledge of production equipment, lighting, and sound practices.
- Familiarity with post-production workflows and collaboration tools (Frame.io, Airtable, Adobe Creative Suite).
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities with sharp attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively with talent, stakeholders, and crew.
- Skilled in balancing creative ambition with production realities under tight timelines.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as production demands require.
