Who we are

Neros is a defense technology company rebuilding America’s drone industrial base. We design and manufacture high-performance unmanned systems that are tested in combat, iterated at startup speed, and built at massive scale. Our team culture is fast, hands-on, and obsessed with closing the gap between design and deployment.

As drones transform the character of warfare, Neros is delivering the systems the West needs to compete on the modern battlefield and deter the adversaries of democracy. We’re hiring engineers, operators, and builders who want to move fast, take on extreme ownership, and get capability into the hands of warfighters in months, not years.

What you will be doing

The Global Logistics Manager will own all domestic and international shipping operations for controlled and hazardous materials, including lithium batteries, defense-related electronics, and ITAR-restricted items. This individual will be responsible for building and managing logistics systems, ensuring compliance with international trade and export regulations, and developing scalable processes to support production growth and global expansion. This role requires deep expertise in international trade compliance, dangerous goods transportation, and defense export controls, combined with a hands-on approach to execution. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable developing strategic logistics frameworks and managing day-to-day shipping operations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end domestic and international shipping operations across air, ocean, and ground transportation networks
  • Oversee packaging, labeling, documentation, and shipment execution for dangerous goods (DG) in accordance with IATA, IMDG, and 49 CFR regulations
  • Ensure all logistics activities comply with applicable export control regulations, including ITAR, EAR, customs requirements, and hazardous materials regulations
  • Maintain and manage relationships with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, and logistics service providers to ensure reliable and compliant transportation services
  • Develop, monitor, and report on key logistics performance indicators (KPIs), including shipping costs, transit times, on-time delivery performance, and carrier effectiveness
  • Maintain required dangerous goods certifications and ensure proper employee training, documentation, and recordkeeping in accordance with regulatory requirements
  • Develop, standardize, and maintain logistics standard operating procedures (SOPs) covering shipping, receiving, export documentation, dangerous goods handling, customs compliance, and transportation workflows
  • Build and maintain audit-ready documentation systems to support traceability and compliance with defense industry requirements, including DFARS, DPAS, and AS9100 standards
  • Support implementation and optimization of ERP, SCM, and shipping management systems to improve shipment visibility, tracking, reporting, and cost allocation
  • Partner with Supply Chain, Production, Legal, Engineering, Business Development, and Program Management teams to align logistics operations with customer delivery requirements and export restrictions
  • Utilize NetSuite and other business systems to prioritize customer orders and shipment schedules based on contractual commitments, need-by dates, production capacity, material readiness, export clearance requirements, and DPAS ratings
  • Advise engineering and operations teams on packaging design, transportation requirements, and compliance considerations for dangerous goods and controlled exports
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on logistics efficiency, scalability, compliance, and cost optimization

You should have the following

  • 5+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management, with significant experience supporting international and dangerous goods shipments
  • Strong working knowledge of IATA, IMDG, 49 CFR, ITAR, EAR, customs regulations, and international trade compliance requirements
  • Experience preparing and reviewing export documentation, including commercial invoices, shipper's declarations, AES filings, certificates of origin, and related customs documentation
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing logistics processes, SOPs, training programs, and compliance documentation
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Extensive experience working/relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, etc
  • Strong analytical capabilities with experience utilizing data to drive operational improvements
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience working with large datasets
  • Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on operational execution in a fast-paced environment

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
