We are looking to hire a full-time Live Stream Manager (Whatnot) for DNAM Brands.

In this role, you will own the strategy and execution of live selling on Whatnot across our portfolio of brands, including Von Dutch, Ed Hardy, Trina Turk, Valentino Orlandi, and Badgley Mischka. You will be responsible for building a consistent, high-performing live auction and sales channel that drives revenue, inventory movement, and customer engagement.

This is a highly hands-on role suited for someone who thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and is comfortable operating in a live selling environment. You will play a key role in shaping how DNAM leverages Whatnot as a channel for both revenue generation and brand engagement.

In this role, you will oversee and drive performance across:

  • Live auction and stream execution
  • Host management and on-air performance
  • Product selection and lot building
  • Pricing strategy and sell-through optimization
  • Whatnot-specific growth and engagement strategy

You will partner closely with Merchandising, Sales, and Operations teams to ensure product selection, pricing, and inventory are aligned to maximize sell-through and efficiency.

This role requires a strong understanding of live auction dynamics, urgency-driven selling, and audience engagement, along with the ability to think quickly and make real-time decisions.

Responsibilities

    • Own the end-to-end live selling strategy for Whatnot
    • Plan, schedule, and execute live auctions and streams
    • Build product lots and pricing strategies to maximize sell-through and margin
    • Manage and develop live hosts to improve on-air performance and conversion
    • Monitor live performance and adjust pricing, pacing, and product selection in real time
    • Analyze post-stream results and optimize future auctions
    • Partner with Merchandising to identify inventory opportunities for live selling
    • Collaborate with Operations to ensure smooth fulfillment and inventory flow
    • Stay up to date on Whatnot trends, features, and best practices
    • Build repeatable processes to scale Whatnot as a revenue channel

Qualifications

    • 2–5 years of experience in live selling, resale, auction-based platforms, or social commerce (Whatnot preferred)
    • Strong understanding of Whatnot platform dynamics and live auction formats
    • Experience managing live hosts or on-air talent
    • Proven ability to drive revenue and sell-through in live or auction environments
    • Strong instincts for pricing, urgency, and inventory movement
    • Highly self-motivated with the ability to operate independently and take ownership
    • Comfortable working in ambiguous environments and making real-time decisions
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate performance and optimize outcomes
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills
    • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
