VCA Animal Emergency Critical Care in Leesburg, VA is looking for a CVT who's ready to do real work and not just watch from the sidelines. If you've got the skills, we've got the cases and the trust to let you run with them.

This is emergency and critical care medicine. It's fast-paced, hands-on, and never boring. You'll be doing everything: patient care, anesthesia, advanced procedures, diagnostics, and the whole toolkit. Daytime and Swing shifts, working alongside a team that's genuinely good at this and genuinely wants you to get better at it too.

What you'll actually be doing:

  • Providing Critical Care medicine that goes hand-in-hand with specialty medicine, to provide the best outcome for the patients
  • Physical exams, patient histories, vitals — the foundation of good care
  • Medications, CRIs, transfusions, and treatments, dosed right and documented right
  • IV catheters, venipuncture, fluid therapy, high flow oxygen
  • Anesthesia inducing, monitoring, and keeping patients stable through procedures
  • Radiography and in-house diagnostics
  • Client education — real conversations about at home care, nutrition, and discharge instructions
  • Accurate records and clear communication with the team
  • Handling a huge range of cases, from routine to "okay, this one's a lot"

Who we're looking for: Someone positive, driven, and not afraid to speak up. We have real conversations as a team, and your ideas actually go somewhere. We're picky about who we bring on. We want people who can roll with chaos, wear a few hats, and show up for the people next to them.

Compensation: $35.00 - $37.00 / hr based on skill set, experience and licensure status.

Schedule: Full time, swing and daytime shifts

Why VCA

VCA is one of the largest networks of animal hospitals in the country — but you'd never know it from the way we operate. Every hospital keeps its own identity, its own team, and its own culture, while giving you access to the resources, mentorship, and career opportunities of a national organization behind you. You get the best of both: the tight-knit feel of a local practice and the backing, benefits, and growth potential of an industry leader.

We're genuinely invested in your career — not just your job. From continuing education to credential support to nationwide transfer opportunities if life takes you somewhere new, we build the kind of support system that helps technicians build real, lasting careers, not just punch a clock. This is a place where your work is seen, your growth is prioritized, and your future in this field actually matters to us.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
