Who We're Seeking:

A hyper organized and efficient in-house Counsel, who will be responsible for

You will be an integral and valuable member of the Omaze team and have the goal of increasing efficiency and building an even stronger foundation for Omaze’s legal department. You will gain experience in the highly specialized worlds of nonprofit fundraising and sweepstakes regulations while working in a fast-paced environment at the nexus of social good and technology. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Review, draft, edit and negotiate commercial agreements, including vendor agreements, NDAs, BAAs, and vendor agreements of all kinds, update and maintain template repository
• Review, draft and implement key internal documents and process to ensure compliance across the organization
• Identify, research, analyze, and advise teams on a wide range of relevant legal topics (e.g., corporate governance, licensing, intellectual property, consumer protection, data security, and privacy law), issues, and risks
• Keep abreast of legislative changes that may affect the company globally
• Communicate complex legal concepts in layman’s terms
• Continually improve our legal processes to help us scale globally with a consistent but locally relevant approach

Our Ideal Candidate:

• 4+ years of experience working in an internationally/nationally recognized law firm or in-house legal department, with a Juris Doctorate from a reputable US law school required
• Superior analytical skills with a creative and pragmatic problem-solving approach
• Admitted to practice in California or the ability to register as In-House Counsel in California
• Strong business sense and ability to exercise good business judgement is critical
• Extreme multi-tasker, with unmatched organizational skills and an unyielding attention to detail
• Excellent legal skills, including significant experience in structuring, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of transactional agreements.
• General understanding of intellectual property, online and mobile advertising, and data issues required
• Background in advertising, privacy, and/or digital media is preferred, international experience a plus
• You are willing to do the tedious detailed oriented type of work that keeps Omaze running and have the ability to independently exercise sound judgment with minimal supervision
• You are accountable and a true team player, and are excited by the fact that this role requires you to build strong cross-functional relationships throughout the organization
• Maintain a calm demeanor and guide colleagues through sudden challenges
• You are passionate about making a change and want to use your skills to do something good for the world
• You take your work seriously, but not yourself
• Any experience in sweepstakes, advertising, data privacy or other highly regulated arenas is a huge plus
