Job Description

We are looking for a Legal Operations Analyst to join SquareTrade’s Legal Team. As Legal Operations Analyst, you will be working cross-functionally on a wide array of legal and compliance projects. You will collaborate and work to learn how SquareTrade operates and to assist in improving existing processes. This is a hybrid position with a 1 day per week in-office expectation.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • In-House Support: Assist the Legal team with various aspects of in-house legal work, including (but not limited to) reviewing NDAs, representing Allstate Protection Plans in small claims court, providing support to the HR team, and working closely with the marketing team on various initiatives.
  • Compliance: Assist with and oversee various aspects of regulatory compliance, including GDPR/CCPA privacy processes, industry-related license renewals, and data/audit requests. Work with external partners and government agencies on compliance issues and filings.
  • Escalated Complaints Management: Perform thorough investigations into customer complaints raised by regulators to determine the company’s response and to coordinate resolutions with the customer.
  • Corporate Governance: Assist in maintaining our active entities. registered agents and business registrations/licenses. You’ll also assist in drafting, reviewing and processing for execution corporate documents.
  • Innovation: Identify and drive the initiation of new processes to create efficiencies within and beyond the Legal department.
  • Research: Collect data and research various issues through online and internal resources to create detailed analyses.
  • Administrative Support: General administrative duties such as reviewing mail, coordinating DocuSign requests, managing the legal email alias, invoice processing, and maintaining legal files.
  • This position requires the ability to take on ad-hoc projects as they arise and handle them with poise...every day is a little different around here!

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s or Associate's degree
  • Must possess a “value add” attitude.
  • Should demonstrate high levels of integrity, be passionate, persistent and a team player.
  • Comfortable working with and maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Proficient with MS Word, MS Excel and experience with Adobe Acrobat/PDFs, and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Superior listening skills and strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills + superior analytical skills.
  • Ability to work quickly and creatively with little or no supervision.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience required
  • Experience with Salesforce, DocuSign, Microsoft Office, and/or Jira is a plus but not a requirement.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional departments and executives on projects.

(California Only) Pursuant to applicable law, SquareTrade estimates the possible base compensation for this role, if hired in California, to be within the following range: $33.56 - $43.27 per hour
