Job Description SummaryThe LEAP Engines Controller will be responsible for supporting GE Aerospace’s strategic priority of a Lean monthly close that generates accurate, timely and GAAP-compliant financial information for use by internal and external stakeholders. This role will serve as the primary operational accounting point of contact for the LEAP engines product line. Key responsibilities include driving operational accounting compliance with U.S. GAAP standards, maintaining financial and operational internal controls, leading accounting process simplification, communicating regularly with LEAP Finance and FP&A, and driving the implementation of FLIGHT DECK through the development of standard work and continuous process improvement.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide timely and accurate financial reporting information for use within and outside of the GE Aerospace Commercial Engines and Services division. This includes accurate order management, understanding and adhering to engines revenue recognition principles, preparing and reviewing monthly journal entries, preparing and reviewing monthly LEAP Engines balance sheet commentary, preparing and reviewing account reconciliations, and driving closing and reporting process improvements.
- Serve as a people leader to a team of 2-3 direct reports.
- Partner with the Commercial Engines Controller on strategic initiatives, including closing cycle time reduction and LEAP / CFM contract flow down and management.
- Ensure internal controls over financial reporting are designed and operating effectively in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX).
- Drive consistent adherence to U.S. GAAP, GE GAP, and GE Aerospace SOPs.
- Drive adoption of FLIGHT DECK through consistent application of Lean principles, the development of standard work, and the use of structured problem solving.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from an accredited university or college
- 8+ years of experience in operational and/or technical accounting
- Strong process improvement mindset

- Previous experience with Oracle
- Proven analytical and organizational ability
