POSITION SUMMARY

The Junior Accountant is responsible for various accounting functions including Dale Carnegie and month-end journal entries and reconciliations for all Trust Accounts. The Junior Accountant reports to the Controller.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Schedule messenger pickup
  • Oversee Dale Carnegie
  • Review and Post Daily Cash Receipt
  • Process and prepare Title IV Checks
  • Post Trust Accounts in SAGE and QuickBooks for all deposits and drawdowns
  • Post SLM deposits and withdrawals
  • Reconcile Trust Accounts
  • Monthly student statements
  • Monthly campus audit visit
  • Assist Controller/CFO with month-end closing
  • Assist with other projects as needed

QUALIFICATIONS KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Demonstrated Computer literacy skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Possess excellent communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Must be accurate and attentive to detail.
  • Payroll experience with Paycom Preferred

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s or equivalent required.
  • MS Excel: 1 year (Required)
