About This Role
This is an impactful onsite IT technical role in Menlo Park, reporting to our Director of Operations. Cyngn’s VP of Engineering Services and Director of Operations will have oversight on the deliverables for this role aligned with the company's technical and business deliverables.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization ensuring best in class security systems and best practices
- Lead help desk support efforts for the company, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner. Maintain and scale ticketing system for daily support efforts Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes
- Implement, monitor, and continuously improve cybersecurity measures to protect systems, networks, and data against unauthorized access and threats.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues
- Responsible for capacity, storage planning, database performance as well as maintaining SW and tools licenses & renewals.
- Managing new hire onboarding setups and provide training to users on new applications, technologies and equipment
- Help manage relationships with IT contractors and vendors
- Set up new equipment for new users and assist with relocation of existing users due to moves, promotions, etc.
- Network administration (setting up switches, routers,site-to-site VPN, etc.)
- This position may require occasional nights and weekends support to the teams
Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Information Technology or equivalent experience in an IT role
- Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols
- Experience with scripting and automation tools
- Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms (Mac, Windows, Linux)
- Account Management experience
- Working knowledge of virtualization (Docker, VMware etc.,)
- A proven track record of developing and implementing IT strategy and plans
- Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols
- Detail-oriented and data-driven
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment supports cross functional teams.
