Intern – DevOps  

 

The Big Picture

Sysco LABS Sri Lanka delivers the technology that powers Sysco’s end-to-end operations. Sysco LABS’ enterprise technology is present in the end-to-end foodservice journey, enabling the sourcing of food products, merchandising, storage and warehouse operations, order placement and pricing algorithms, the delivery of food and supplies to Sysco’s global network and the in-restaurant dining experience of the end-customer.  

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Assisting in implementing and improving CI/CD pipelines. 

  • Supporting the deployment and automation of cloud-based systems (primarily AWS) 

  • Learning and applying best practices for infrastructure as code and containerization 

  • Helping monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues under guidance 

  • Participating in team meetings and contributing to Agile delivery processes 

  • Documenting processes, configurations, and improvements 

  • Exploring AI-driven tools and automation opportunities as part of Sysco’s innovation initiatives 

 

Requirements: 

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field 

  • A basic understanding of cloud computing concepts (AWS knowledge is a plus) 

  • Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Git, Jenkins, Docker, or Kubernetes (academic or project experience acceptable) 

  • Possesses a keen interest in automation, scripting, and learning programming languages like Python or Groovy 

  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment 

  • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team
