Job Purpose

To provide instructional leadership/support the instructional program while gaining the experience, knowledge, and skills necessary to become an administrator of ISANA Academies. 


Job Functions

Essential Job Functions Under the direction of the Principal:

  • Monitor implementation of instructional program.
  • Regularly analyze both academic and operational data and use that analysis to drive instruction and operations at the school.
  • Participate in a cooperative effort with faculty and staff to plan, implement and evaluate programs of continuing school improvement.
  • Work with administrators and instructional teams to plan and implement hands-on programs and activities for students and the school.
  • Develop teachers through coaching,
  • Assist in planning and conducting professional development for certificated and classified staff.
  • Supervise classified staff, including Academic Interventionists and yard supervisors.
  • Maintain a positive school environment, including positive discipline and safety for students.
  • Monitor and advance student engagement, recruitment and enrollment.
  • Maintain professional relationship between school and parents.
  • Assist with running school operations to ensure .
  • Monitor and manage facilities’ needs to ensure school safety.
  • Attend special education meetings and understand the special education program.
  • Coordinate special events.
  • Monitor implementation of state standardized testing (ELPAC, CAASPP, PFT).
  • Follow federal and state laws, as well as the letter and the spirit of the Charter and the Governing Board policies and directives from the Principal.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Qualifications

Education Required

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution; and
  • California Teaching Credential; CLAD or BCLAD
  • Minimum of three years of teaching experience in the elementary or secondary level
  • Minimum of two years as a Curriculum Specialist and/or experience in collaborative planning and delivery of differentiated staff development to classroom practitioners; literacy training, knowledge of differentiated classroom instructional practices that promote student academic success; knowledge and understanding of the needs of a diverse student population

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Administrators in Training are required to poses all knowledge, skills and abilities that are required of curriculum specialists.


Physical and Environmental Elements:

  • This position may include long periods of sitting or standing in an environment with moderate noise levels, and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances. This position is frequently required to stand, sit or walk, use hands and fingers and reach with arms.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision to read printed materials and a computer screen with ability to adjust focus.
  • Communication skills required by this job include the ability to hear and speak.
  • Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter and retrieve data using a computer keyboard, typewriter keyboard, or calculator and to operate standard office equipment.
  • The position occasionally bends, stoops, reaches, pushes, and pulls drawers to retrieve and file information and lifts and carries items that typically weigh less than 20 pounds.
  • The position requires the ability to travel by train, plane, or other means both inside and outside of the Los Angeles area.
  • May have occasional exposure to irate parents, staff, and public and private representatives

SIGNING BONUS NOTICE: This position is eligible for a signing bonus available to eligible new hires only. Current ISANA employees are not eligible for the signing bonus. Payment will be made in installments. Eligibility for each installment requires active employment with ISANA on the payment date. Signing bonuses may be prorated based on start date or unpaid leave status and are subject to applicable taxes. Employees who separate from ISANA prior to the end of a bonus period will not be eligible for that installment.

PAY RANGE NOTICE: The posted pay range represents the full salary range for this classified position. Final placement within the range is contingent upon verification of prior experience through completion of the required Verification of Experience (VOE) form. Credit for prior experience requires verification of qualifying employment and having worked at least 85% of the applicable employment period.
