Provides technical inside-sales support for instrumentation products by responding to customer inquiries, recommending equipment, preparing quotations, resolving complaints, supporting post-order issues, and coordinating with sales, application engineering, and product management. The role also supports LiveChat and myVEGA engagement, participates in trade shows and customer events, conducts facility tours, processes equipment returns, and develops product expertise through training.
The Inside Sales – Technical Team is made up of personable, detail-oriented problem-solvers who know how to connect with customers to meet their instrumentation needs.
What you’ll do:
- Initiate and participate in proactive conversations with outside sales to develop sales strategies for increased activity in Business Development team territories.
- Receive and respond to phone, e-mail, and web-based inquiries regarding technical data and pricing, delivery, or application information.
- Engage with LinkedIn as a sales tool – share with your network and VEGA Americas customer base on interesting applications worked on.
- Evaluate customer application information and recommend equipment in alignment with customer defined performance, delivery, and price parameters. Assistance from the Inside Sales Technical team, Product Management, etc. required.
- Develop clear and effective quotations for current and prospective customers, representatives, and/or Regional Sales or Industry Sales.
- Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, and making recommendations to management.
- Active participation in LiveChat and customer support.
- Encourage and promote customer engagement with myVEGA including set-up and support.
- Backup for the Inside Sales team with phone calls and email support as needed. Must address customers' issues and ensure effective and responsive problem resolution.
- Opportunity to influence and train internally and externally on VEGA instrumentation.
- Trade shows, On-site visits, customer events to promote VEGA brand.
- Perform facility tours of VEGA’s campus (training, sales, and production buildings).
- Maintain and improve superior results by following procedures and recommending improved policies and procedures.
- Issue timely and detailed Material Return Authorizations (MRA’s) for VEGA equipment.
- Liaison between application engineering and/or sales support to efficiently service the customer, representative, Regional Sales, or Industry Sales.
- Field incoming inquiries for post-order service and support issues. Ask probing questions to determine the best course of action to fulfill customer needs and minimize VEGA costs. Assistance from the IST team, Product Management, etc. required.
- Expectation of learning: basic instrumentation, Radiometric, MLI/Bridle, VIS systems.
- OJT with the Sales team to learn more about the local business including industries, customer types, and instruments in the process (1-2 times a year).
What you'll need:
- Four-year Degree, preferably in a Technical Field.
- AND customer service experience.
- OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Very detailed and organized
