VP, Talent Operations (HR)

THE PURPOSE:

As the Vice President of Talent Operations (Human Resources) at Virgin Hyperloop One, you’ll develop talent, leadership, and culture for our domestic and international offices. In addition to defining our company culture, the Vice President of Talent Operations will create and lead programs that celebrate and expand our ever growing team. You’ll also be responsible for ensuring a safe, supportive, and productive environment for everyone.

As the Vice President of the Talent Operations team, you’ll lead strategy discussions with Business and Experience Partners, mentor Recruiters and Specialists on best practices, and develop our senior leaders, managers, and employees so we can build a better future together!

THE ROLE:

  • Act as a strategic partner to senior leadership while shaping company initiatives based on people and data insights
  • Create and implement robust strategies for personal and professional development & growth, total rewards, internal communications, and employee engagement
  • Align department initiatives with company mission by creating department short- and long-term objectives
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership to the Talent Operations team
  • Partner to create and support strategic initiatives for high-volume recruiting and developing talent pipelines
  • Develop policies to uphold legal standards and promote our culture and values
  • Conduct investigations, recommend and implement corrective actions, and counsel employees and managers – guided by our policies, process, industry best practices, and relevant labor laws
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets
  • Other projects as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience across the full spectrum of Human Resources including Recruiting, Organizational Development, Learning & Development/Training, and Talent Management
  • Track record of developing and implementing people programs, especially for diversity & inclusion or personal & professional development
  • Proven ability to build effective partnership and coach senior leaders, managers, and employees
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Sociology, or any other relevant field
    • or equivalent work experience

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in a start-up or engineering environment
  • SHRM or SPHR certification
  • Graduate degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Sociology, Law, Business or any other relevant field
  • Experience with Global Mobility, Compensation & Benefits, HRIS, or HR Compliance
