What you’ll do:
The SDHR provides executive-level leadership and guidance to the organization’s HR operations. The SDHR is responsible for setting, enforcing, and evaluating legally compliant human resources policies, procedures, and best practices, and identifying and implementing long-range strategic talent management goals.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to define the organization’s long-term mission and goals; identify ways to support this mission through talent management
- Strategize, plan, and direct the activities of the HR department including recruitment and selection, compensation, payroll, benefits, workers compensation, leave management, staff training, leadership development, employee relations, and various staff events
- Translate strategic initiatives into and manage the development of the HR departments ministry plan, goals, policies and systems for each functional area of HR
- Provide HR consulting expertise to executive/senior leadership particularly from the perspective of the impact on people and the organization and make recommendations that focus on improvement, equity, and compliance
- Develop staffing strategies and implement plans and methods to identify talent internally and externally, and identify appropriate and effective external resources for recruiting and assessing candidates
- Oversee Company Learning and Development (L&D) initiative for our leadership team, senior management, and general staff
- Participate, along with the executive team, in developing and enhancing the company culture via programs, initiatives, recruiting philosophy, and every day operational behaviors
- Develop and oversee the department budget, manage expenditures focused on proper stewardship, and report on budget variances
- Identify key performance indicators for the organization’s human resource and talent management functions; assesses the organization’s success and market competitiveness based on these metrics
- Research, develop, and implement competitive compensation, benefits, performance appraisal, and employee incentive programs
- Provide guidance and leadership to the human resource management team; assists with resolution of human resource, compensation, and benefits questions, concerns, and issues
- Ensure compliance with employment, benefits, insurance, safety, and other laws, regulations, and requirements
- Maintain knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law, human resources, and talent management
- Draft and implement the organization’s staffing budget, and the budget for the human resource department
- Participate in professional development and networking conferences and events
- Perform other duties as assigned
Who you are and what you’ll need for this position:
- Proven experience as Senior Director of HR or another senior HR role
- Deep knowledge of broad-based HR functions (talent management, recruitment, benefits, learning & development, etc.)
- Knowledge of and experience with varied HRIS systems
- Experience in strategic planning and implementation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills
- Thorough knowledge of US employment-related laws and regulations.
- Experience with international labor law
- Ability to use metrics and analytics
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Impeccable interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
- Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
- High EQ, a “no job too small” startup mentality
- Not take yourself too seriously and the ability to have fun
- At least fifteen (15) years of human resource management experience required, with strategic HR & talent management experience highly preferred
- BSc/BA in business, HR, social sciences or related field; MSc/MA/MBA is preferable
- SPHR / SHRM-SCP preferred
