About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Head of Financial Partnerships to lead and expand Finix’s U.S. and Canadian partnerships with sponsor banks and card networks. This role is critical to strengthening relationships with key industry players, driving strategic initiatives, and reinforcing Finix’s position at the forefront of payments innovation. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in the payments ecosystem, a strong track record in high-level negotiations, and the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage the strategic, commercial, and the day-to-day aspects of finix’s bank and card network partnerships.
- Manage and expand our U.S. and Canadian sponsor bank partnerships
- Manage and expand relationships with major card brands (Amex, Visa, Mastercard, Discover)
- Act as the primary escalation point for operating and technology challenges with card brands, ensuring swift resolution.
- Partner with internal stakeholders, including product, engineering, risk, underwriting, and compliance teams, to align on business needs and drive execution.
- Represent Finix at industry events, fostering relationships with key decision-makers and staying ahead of market trends.
- Develop, manage, and report on strategic plans, partner health, and key negotiation/expansion opportunities.
You Are:
- 10+ years of experience in strategic partnerships, business development, corporate development, or related fields.
- 8+ years of experience in payments or card networks.
- Deep understanding of card network operations, business models, and industry trends.
- Proven experience executing industry-wide partnership strategies and negotiating high-impact commercial deals.
- Strong ability to influence internal and external stakeholders, including C-level executives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience leading teams or managing large, complex cross-functional projects.
Nice to Have:
- Experience influencing policy changes with card brands (e.g., OptBlue rule adjustments for ISVs).
- Prior involvement in securing government disbursement opportunities.
- Proven track record in gaining early access to emerging card network technologies and programs.

Base Salary Range: $175,000/yr to $250,000/yr + Equity + Benefits
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries at our headquarters in San Francisco, California. Individual pay is determined by work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
