What are we looking for?

Hercules is looking for a Head of Content to help us scale all our content production across social, paid media, SEO, and Blog.

What will you do?

You will own all content production at Hercules

  • Lead: Manage a team of ~10 full-time employees + contractors

  • Content standards: You will enforce and raise the bar for content across the company

  • Marketing angle and messaging: You will own ad prioritize the market angles and messaging we pursue at the company

  • Written content: You will lead our content strategy and production across SEO, blog, social media, product announcements, case studies, Google ads, and more

  • Static image content: You will lead our static image content strategy, primarily used on Meta

  • Video content: You will lead our video content strategy for paid ads like Youtube and Meta, as well as video customer stories or announcements

  • Paid and organic: You will own content across paid and organic

  • Hire: You will help hire/manage writers, editors, designers, and other creators

What skills do we expect you to have?

We expect candidates to be incredibly strong across all of the following areas:

  • Writing quality: exceptional long-form writing ability. Our style is terse, simple, clear, convincing, authentic, and useful. We do not accept AI slop. A track record of strong written communication is a hard requirement

  • SEO: strong understanding of search intent, content structure, on-page SEO, internal linking, content refreshes, and what it takes for content to rank

  • Commercial sense: create content that ranks AND converts the audience to paid customers

  • Technical fluency: familiarity with technical concepts like APIs, authentication, hosting, role based access control etc

  • AI leverage: 10x your workflow by using the frontier of AI tools well. We expect you to be able to product ~50+ high quality articles a month, if not more

  • Hiring and management: We expect you to have a background managing at least 15 people

Is Hercules in-office or remote?

Hercules founding team works in-office in San Francisco (Kearny and Bush). We have a very strong preference for in office. We are open to remote for exceptional candidates who are willing to 1) work in US time zones and 2) travel to the office regularly.
