Key Responsibilities:
Perform moderately complex development activities, including the design, assembly, testing, and documentation of satellites
Act as a technical reference within a group or solution
Develop and employ the best practices and maintain them through technical reviews and mentoring
Perform root cause analysis, validation/verification testing
Contribute to the engineering roadmap process for R&D projects
Bring your voice to the table in team collaborations and design reviews

What we're looking for:
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline
Passion for, and knowledge of, aerospace and space technology
Must be able to work full time (40 hours per week), on-site in Irvine, CA for 12 consecutive weeks between May – September 2026.
Must be able to provide your own transportation and housing.
Nice to have:
GPA of 3.5 or above
Hands-on experience working on teams designing hardware
Openings:
As an Engineering Intern at Turion space you will drive designs from concept through testing and flight. You’ll have broad ownership and will be expected to learn quickly, contribute across disciplines, and help us deliver mission-ready hardware. Based on your experience you may be placed with the following sub-teams:
Mechanical: Create metallic and composite structures using SolidWorks to model and draft your designs. You will learn how to apply GD&T and complete tolerance stack ups.
Propulsion: Design propellant management subsystems and/or other propulsion subsystems from concept through integration and test. This may include welded structures, fluid systems, manifold design, piping, valves or propellant tanking.
Payload: Learn about the development of electro-optical payloads, sensors and computer vision in aerospace applications.
Manufacturing: Develop manufacturing processes and procedures for new spacecraft projects. Directly contribute to the build and assembly of satellites.
Hardware Engineer Intern Pay: $25/hr-$30/hr
ITAR Requirements:
This position may include access to technology and/or software source code that is subject to U.S. export controls. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
