Maintains a clean, safe, and welcoming hotel fitness center. Welcomes guests, explains facilities and rules, provides basic equipment guidance, replenishes amenities, monitors safety, records incidents and inspections, reports equipment issues, supports emergency response when trained, and completes opening, closing, and shift handover procedures.
As a Gym Attendant, you will help create a clean, safe, and welcoming fitness experience for our guests. You will provide friendly assistance, maintain the gym and equipment, replenish amenities, and ensure the facility is always ready for our guests.
- Welcome guests and provide friendly, professional service.
- Explain gym hours, facilities, rules, and available amenities.
- Provide basic guidance on the safe use of fitness equipment within your training.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic fitness center.
- Clean and disinfect equipment, mats, and high-touch areas.
- Keep towels, water, cups, and other gym amenities fully stocked.
- Conduct routine visual checks of fitness equipment and report any damage or malfunction.
- Remove unsafe equipment from service and report maintenance concerns promptly.
- Monitor the gym to help ensure guest safety and compliance with facility rules.
- Respond appropriately to guest concerns and escalate issues when necessary.
- Assist with First Aid, CPR, or AED response when trained and required.
- Maintain required cleaning, equipment, supply, and incident records.
- Coordinate with Housekeeping, Engineering, Security, Recreation, Spa, and other departments.
- Complete opening and closing procedures and provide clear shift handovers.
- Support other hotel departments and operational needs when required.
What are we looking for?
- Previous experience in hospitality, guest service, a gym, a spa, recreation, or a fitness environment is preferred.
- Secondary vocational education or equivalent.
- Good spoken English and strong communication skills.
- Friendly, professional, and guest-focused attitude.
- Good attention to cleanliness, safety, and facility presentation.
- Ability to follow safety, cleaning, and equipment procedures.
- Basic knowledge of fitness equipment.
- Current First Aid, CPR, and AED certification, or willingness to obtain certification.
- Papiamento, Spanish, and/or Dutch language skills are an advantage.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
