The Graphics & Video Producer supports the visual brand of Hillside Community Church (HCC) by producing graphic design and video/photo content in accordance with project requirements, brand standards, and creative direction provided by the Art Director. This position is anchored primarily in graphic design, with video production as a supporting skill set, moving fluidly between still and motion media as needed. This contractor serves as the primary hands-on producer fulfilling graphics and video requests that come in from across all church and ministry departments — whether that's designing print collateral for a churchwide campaign, capturing and editing video content for weekend gatherings, or executing a volunteer-produced project — all guided by the creative direction, brand standards, and priorities set by the Art Director.

This role is production-focused: the Art Director sets the vision, brand direction, and project priorities, and the Graphics & Video Producer turns that direction into finished graphic and video deliverables efficiently and at volume. As a contractor, this individual works closely with the Art Director and other ministry leads to accomplish shared goals, and is expected to exemplify Hillside's core staff values, committed to the vision of seeing God's hope transform our cities one story at a time, and the mission of experiencing God's love, growing in community, and serving with compassion.

  • Compassionate (care): I want to be marked by the compassion of Jesus in how I relate to others, I choose to be a proactive initiator of care, remembering that Jesus is a friend of sinners like me, and reaches out to the suffering

  • Collaboration: I choose partnership with God and with others over individual achievement and effort. I want to work with God, and His people on His mission of transformation that is bigger than anyone one of us

  • Community: I will devote myself to and faithfully cultivate friendships with others at Hillside. Growing with Jesus always involves being with friends who pray, serve and follow Jesus together

  • Commitment: I will wholeheartedly and sacrificially devote myself to God and one another in a world of busyness and overcommitment. In my heart, home, neighborhood and church I will be a devoted follower of Christ

  • Courageous: our faith calls us out of our comfort zones and invites us to live with boldness & resiliency, filled with God’s Spirit and power. I will seek first the kingdom of God, being a servant and witness to Him daily

  • Celebration: I will choose to be thankful and joyful in the goodness of God and His salvation. Even when sorrowful I will seek to be grateful for the gifts of God. I also choose to rejoice with others as they rejoice.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
