Snap Inc is a technology company. We believe the camera presents the greatest opportunity to improve the way people live and communicate. Snap contributes to human progress by empowering people to express themselves, live in the moment, learn about the world, and have fun together.

The Company operates Snapchat, a visual messaging app that enhances your relationships with friends, family, and the world, and Specs Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary dedicated to making computing more human, in addition to Bitmoji, Saturn, and other digital services.

Specs Inc. is dedicated to making computing more human. We develop SPECS, advanced, augmented reality eyewear that integrates digital experiences into the physical world through see-through lenses, Snap OS, and Lens Studio.

We’re looking for a Global Immersive Content Leader to join the SPECS team. In this manager-level individual contributor role, you will define and execute the content strategy that makes SPECS useful in the real world. You will work cross-functionally with Global Industry Leaders, product, design, engineering, marketing, partnerships, legal, and sales to ensure our users can access the curriculum, training materials, manuals, and other authoritative content they need to perform their work more efficiently.

This role will build relationships with content owners and publishing houses, identify high-value content for immersive delivery, and create the operating model required to bring rights-cleared education, industrial and enablement content onto the SPECS platform. You will help turn existing educational and professional knowledge into practical, accessible, and repeatable immersive experiences for learners and workers across industries.

What you’ll do
  • Own the global immersive content strategy for SPECS, defining the content categories, audiences, industries, and priority workflows that will drive user value and platform adoption.
  • Work closely with Global Industry Leaders to identify the curriculum, training materials, operating manuals, reference content, and other knowledge assets required to support priority use cases in higher education, retail, manufacturing, healthcare, and other enterprise sectors.
  • Build and manage relationships with content and publishing houses, education providers, professional associations, training organizations, and other rights holders that own or control high-value educational and professional content.
  • Lead the sourcing, evaluation, prioritization, licensing, and partnership development required to make third-party content available for immersive experiences on SPECS.
  • Partner with legal, business affairs, product, and engineering teams to establish repeatable frameworks for rights clearance, licensing, attribution, content security, renewals, geographic availability, and permitted uses.
  • Translate traditional content formats into immersive content strategies that take advantage of spatial computing, hands-free access, contextual information, and natural interaction through SPECS.
  • Define content requirements, quality standards, metadata structures, accessibility expectations, localization needs, and publishing workflows that enable content to scale across industries and markets.
  • Create repeatable playbooks for onboarding content partners, reviewing content readiness, managing revisions, and moving assets from initial agreement through production, launch, and ongoing operations.
  • Partner with product, design, engineering, and Lens Studio teams to shape the tools, formats, APIs, and platform capabilities needed to deliver and maintain immersive content at scale.
  • Develop content portfolios and launch plans that balance foundational curriculum, job-specific training, procedural manuals, reference materials, and customer- or partner-provided content.
  • Support customer and partner enablement through demonstrations, content pilots, workshops, executive briefings, and industry events that show how immersive content can improve learning and work.
  • Curate external-facing thought leadership on immersive learning, enterprise content transformation, spatial computing, and the future of hands-free access to knowledge.
Minimum qualifications
  • 10+ years leading content strategy, content transformation, publishing, education technology, digital learning, partnerships, business development, or a related discipline.
  • Significant experience creating, acquiring, licensing, distributing, or transforming educational, professional, technical, or enterprise content.
  • Experience working with content owners, publishers, education providers, rights holders, or other organizations that control valuable intellectual property.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and execute a content ecosystem strategy that connects user needs, content supply, technology platforms, and commercial outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of curriculum development, instructional design, professional training, technical documentation, knowledge management, or related content disciplines.
  • Experience leading cross-functional programs across product, design, engineering, legal, business affairs, marketing, partnerships, and sales organizations.
  • Ability to work with industry leaders and customer-facing teams to translate real-world workflows into clear content priorities and scalable content programs.
  • Strong strategic thinking and operational judgment, with the ability to move from ambiguous market needs to specific content portfolios, partner plans, and execution roadmaps.
  • Experience negotiating or supporting complex content, technology, distribution, licensing, or strategic partnership agreements.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate equally well with creative, academic, technical, legal, commercial, and executive stakeholders.
  • Ability to build trust with senior external partners and influence internal teams without direct authority.
  • Comfort operating in an evolving category where the market, technology, and user expectations are still being established.
  • Willingness to travel within the US and globally for partner meetings, customer engagements, content reviews, onsite workshops, and industry events.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Preferred qualifications
  • Experience in augmented reality, mixed reality, spatial computing, smart glasses, wearable computing, immersive learning, or adjacent emerging technologies.
  • Experience building content or education programs for higher education, manufacturing, retail, healthcare, or other enterprise industries.
  • Experience working at or partnering with a major education, publishing, media, professional training, or technical content organization.
  • Experience with content licensing, intellectual property rights, digital distribution, content marketplaces, or publisher partnership models.
  • Experience translating textbooks, curricula, training programs, standard operating procedures, technical manuals, or other structured content into digital or interactive formats.
  • Familiarity with content management systems, learning management systems, digital asset management, metadata standards, localization, accessibility, and content operations.
  • Experience building partner ecosystems involving publishers, universities, training providers, software platforms, systems integrators, or industry associations.
  • Previous experience at Microsoft HoloLens, Magic Leap, Meta, a comparable AR/XR company, or an organization focused on immersive learning or enterprise content transformation.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
