Provides FP&A and analytical support for multiple business units. Partners with business leaders, builds financial models, supports forecasting and budgeting cycles, contributes to strategic projects, and uses AI tools for analytical work while validating outputs. The role requires translating complex data into actionable recommendations, identifying business drivers, and improving reporting processes. It offers early ownership and exposure to senior leadership.
Location: Los Angeles, CA (Internet Brands)
The Role: Internet Brands is seeking a Financial Analyst to provide key analytical support across a portfolio of our business units.
This isn’t your standard variance-reporting role. AI now handles much of the technical execution, so from day one your focus is on the thinking that sits on top of it. You’ll work alongside senior General Managers: framing the questions that matter and turning analysis into decisions the business acts on.
What You’ll Do:
- Business Partnering Support: Work closely with your business unit leads and the senior analysts who advise them. Prepare the analysis behind the recommendations, contribute to the conversations, and bring your own point of view.
- Work Hands-On with AI: Put AI to work on the analytical heavy lifting using the tools and workflows the team has built. You stay accountable for the output, including building the judgment to catch where it’s wrong.
- Support Projects & Analysis: Contribute to special projects and strategic initiatives, and build the financial models and analysis that support key operational decisions.
- Help Run the FP&A Engine: Own pieces of the monthly forecast and annual budget cycles for your portfolio. Build the components, keep them accurate, and help simplify and automate the reporting along the way.
What We’re Looking For:
- AI as a Thinking Partner: You use AI to go faster and to think harder. Not as a shortcut to a first draft, but as a tool you direct, push on, and double-check.
- Curiosity & Drive: You ask why, you chase down the answer, and you want to understand the business behind the numbers, not just the numbers.
- Problem Solver: You have the instinct to define a problem, structure an approach, and work with others to actually move it forward.
- Financial Storytelling: You can take a messy data set and turn it into something clear, and you’re building the confidence to stand behind your work.
- Modeling Fluency: You can build a solid financial model and, just as important, you can spot when something’s off — in the model or in the data feeding it. Strong Excel skills are a given.
- Experience: 0-2 years in corporate finance, FP&A, accounting, or a related analytical role. New grads with strong internships welcome.
- Education: BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a highly analytical field.
What We Offer:
- Real Ownership, Early: You’ll own real pieces of the business from the start, with the support to grow into bigger ones.
- Visibility: Exposure to senior leaders and a close-up view of how decisions actually get made.
- Growth: We’re serious about developing analysts: sharper modeling, better storytelling, and real business ownership. Advancement is tied to what you can do, not how long you’ve been here.
- A Function Moving to the Frontier: You’ll join a team that’s being rebuilt around AI from the ground up.
