WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

The Financial Analyst will be responsible for ensuring that all financial transactions are entered into the financial system accurately, adhering to the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Additionally, you will provide accurate, timely financial reporting and analysis to senior management. As a member of the GRAMMY Museum’s Finance team, you will also provide support for various department projects and initiatives.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Participate in monthly close with emphasis on revenue areas.
  • Work with department heads to develop, adjust and track performance metrics.
  • Prepare monthly KPI revenue report and present results to the organization.
  • Assist in reviewing revenue contracts for completeness and compliance with revenue acceptance policies.
  • Provide customer service to various departments and affiliated entities as it relates to accounting and finance matters.
  • Provide various reports to management upon request.
  • Assist with performance of monthly and annual close.
  • Ensure effective communication with all customers, clients, and vendors, both internally and externally.
  • Ensure incoming revenue is recorded in compliance with policies and procedures, i.e., internal and GAAP.
  • Assist with cash forecasting.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance of state and local tax reporting, including property tax filings, sales and use tax filings, and annual reports.
  • Prepare and record journal entries.
  • Assist with annual audit & tax return preparation.
  • Assist with preparation of annual budget and mid-year forecasting.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics or related business field.
  • 5+ years of general accounting experience.
  • 3+ years of demonstrated financial reporting expertise.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and procedures.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, especially in Excel.
  • Familiarity of data analytics software(s).
  • Knowledge of Financial Edge or similar accounting system.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including interpersonal and a customer service mindset.
  • Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy, thoroughness, and organization.
  • Strong administrative skills with the ability to multi-task and work under pressure of tight deadlines.

SALARY AND BENEFITS

The starting salary for this position is $73,400 to $81,100 per year, benchmarked against industry standards. Salaries for positions required to be in specific geographic locations reflect the corresponding labor market. 
 
The actual offer extended will depend on the candidate's experience, qualifications, and the role's requirements. Positions working 20+ hours per week also receive our comprehensive benefits package (with medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401k match, generous paid time off, and more).
