About the Role:
GoodRx is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join our Accounting team. The Staff Accountant will be tasked with managing customer receivables, maintaining and reconciliation the related general ledger accounts and performing financial analysis. This individual will play a crucial role in building a strong financial foundation for a rapidly growing company with a great mission. This individual will report to the Accounting Manager and will collaborate with other members of the Finance team and other business stakeholders. This is a key role within the Accounting team and provides a great opportunity for professional growth.
The ideal candidate will be a creative problem solver and collaborative team player with strong quantitative and qualitative skills and an incredible work ethic. This is an in-person position (non-remote) in our Santa Monica office.
Responsibilities:
- Full cycle of accounts receivable past due balances, including: research, analysis and account reconciliations, and application of cash
- Assisting in the preparation of invoices, account statements, reports, and other records for our customers and review for accuracy
- Manage a high-volume portfolio of customer receivables and work independently to investigate and resolve customer payment issues
- Calling and communicating with customers and holding meetings to understand the procure-to-pay cycles of our customers
- Managing and resolving invoice discrepancies to ensure timely and accurate receivables and collections
- Maintain customer relationships by responding timely and accurately to both internal and external questions and requests for information
- Keeping detailed notes, task creation and reminders in our collections tools
- Assisting in the recording of other transactions, including credit card expense transactions
- Actively seek solutions to customer and sales needs, communicating trends to leadership, and suggesting innovative solutions to our finance and sales teams on behalf of the customer experience
- Drive automation, directly implement change, and solve problems
- Assist with internal and external audit requests as well as ad-hoc requests from regional teams and/or special projects
- Perform and document internal control activities
- Ad hoc financial analysis and reporting in support of other departments and stakeholders
- May be required to read and interpret contracts, legal documents, and other agreements
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field required
- CPA license is a plus
- 2+ years accounting experience, preferably with accounts receivable, public accounting experience is a plus
- Able to identify billing errors promptly
- Able to be organized and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong negotiating, customer service, and communication skills
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Ability to work under pressure and perform several tasks concurrently in a deadline driven environment
- Experience working with financial accounting software (NetSuite & BlackLine) is a plus
- Understanding of internal control (SOX 404) concepts
- Public company experience is a big plus
- Excellent Excel and analytical skills, including VLookUps, Pivot Tables, etc.
