Senior Manager of Inventory Accounting
FabFitFun is searching for a Senior Manager of Inventory Accounting to join our Finance and Accounting team at our HQ office located in West Hollywood. This individual will report to the Director of Financial Accounting and have the opportunity to work with a team of highly motivated professionals within a fast-paced eCommerce business. What You Will Do:
Lead all aspects of the inventory accounting process, including costing and control for both high volume of merchandised inventory and manufactured inventory for thousands of SKUs
Oversee and improve the month-end close of inventory and COGS
Support inventory/costing module of ERP design implementation
Collaborate with the warehouses, merchandising, and accounts payable teams on processes design and improvement to ensure proper accounting and reporting for the current business and future growth
Work with the fulfillment team to improve inventory control process
Partner with warehouse and operations during quarterly physical inventory count process
Ensure proper and accurate classification of inventory and costs
Oversee the preparation of and review monthly roll forwards, journal entries, reconciliations and reporting for inventory deposits, accruals, obsolescence, cost of goods sold, and analysis, KPI’s and ratios
Ensure compliance with GAAP accounting, performing research as needed
Oversee E&O analysis form beginning to end
Research accounting principles and guidance, interpret application, and draft technical accounting memorandums as applicable.
Supervision and development of the general ledger team, 1:1’s, coaching, providing guidance on goals and assisting the team with ad hoc accounting/operational questions/issues.
Support the annual financial statement audit (and other audits).
Support operational/systems initiatives/projects and other ad hoc research, including identifying resolutions for relevant data limitations.
What You Will Bring:
Education & Experience:
BS/BA degree in Accounting required
CPA required
10+ years of progressive Accounting/Finance experience at a large private or public company, including 3+ years of manager-level experience
Preferred:
Public accounting firm (Big 4) experience
Public company experience
Startup, E-Commerce / subscription business experience
Apparel manufacturing or retail experience
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Vast understanding of and experience working with warehouse and fulfillment operations
Experience leading and developing a team of 2+ employees of different levels
Warehouse and inventory systems implementation experience
Thorough and complete knowledge of full cycle inventory accounting
Experience with product inventory (both purchased and manufactured) levels exceeding $100M and 5K plus SKUs
Someone who can work and lead in a rapid-growth and entrepreneurial environment
Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing to all levels of the organization, including senior executive team
Ability to think critically and research ad hoc accounting or operational issues
Have the strategic experience, vision and leadership skills to scale with the business
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Preferred:
High Jump (WMS) experience
NetSuite (ERP) experience
Experience with Looker, Tableau, or other BI systems
Experience with working with data science and BI teams to build reports
International manufacturing experience
Experience overseeing inventory for multiple entities
