Overview
Interface directly with executive management team to define overall residential mortgage servicing rights (MSR) pricing strategy. The primary responsibilities are to develop pricing strategies, ensure pricing strategies are thoroughly analyzed, and recommend to the executive management team which strategies should be pursued. The group manager operates with a large degree of autonomy and decision-making authority.
Job Description

  • Oversee a team that will develop and test complex MSR pricing strategies as well as perform complex analysis to create solutions for corporate strategic initiatives
  • Conduct extensive analysis related to MSR granular pricing in order to appropriately evaluate risk across various collateral attributes.
  • Manage MSR loan-level attribute adjustments and pricing grids, government loss modeling, prepayment and delinquency attribution, and understand the behavior of the qualified residential mortgage (QRM) servicing model.
  • Build financial models and conduct model validation, verify inputs/assumptions, and periodically back test data to support changes in the origination market and overall business with a large degree of autonomy
  • Collaborate analytically with other groups within the Capital Markets division and our Financial Analysis and Valuation department including Financial Modeling and Governance
  • Work directly with the Company's sales teams to determine the impact that pricing strategies may have on our customers
  • Oversee the development and automation of competitive intelligence reporting
  • Conduct extensive data science/analytics to understand the impact all collateral characteristics have on overall performance of origination and servicing portfolios
  • Oversee the opportunity and risk analysis of new product offerings
  • Build controls and processes to ensure zero defect execution on activities within areas of responsibility
  • Perform and manage additional responsibilities / projects within Portfolio Investments and across the organization as required and assigned
  • Demonstrate behaviors which are aligned with the organization's desired culture and values

Ideal Candidate will have the following:

  • BS or masters in engineering or computer science, math, physics, statistics, or financial engineering. Masters level, MBA or CFA preferable
  • 7+ years of experience building financial models and applying advanced statistics techniques to problems in residential mortgage finance
  • Strong quantitative, problem solving, and statistics and financial engineering skills
  • Extensive experience with SQL coding and Excel automation
  • Knowledge of a statistical package like SAS, R, or similar is desirable
  • Strong business acumen and ability to interface effectively with executive management
  • Detail-oriented and proven leader capable of delivering results due to the significant and immediate financial impact on valuation and pricing
