Director of Financial Reporting
FabFitFun is searching for a Director of Financial Reporting to join our Finance and Accounting team. This individual will report to the Controller and have the opportunity to work with a team of highly motivated professionals within a fast-paced eCommerce business.
What You Will Do:
● Drive preparation and participate in drafting S-1 registration statement
● Prepare post-IPO SEC financial reports (10-K, 10-Q) and other requisite filings while assisting in
the quarterly and annual Management’s Discussion and Analysis (MD&A) preparation
● Own organizational compliance with SEC and U.S. GAAP reporting rules, including leading
implementation of new accounting pronouncements
● Act as technical accounting resource by researching, resolving, and documenting accounting
treatments as needed
● Partner with international subsidiaries to monitor statutory reporting compliance
● Manage and review documentation prepared by SOX Manager that supports compliance with
various provisions of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, including Section 404
● Collaborate across departments to improve controls that impact financial reporting including
refining processes, policies, procedures, documentation, and information systems
● Partner with Data Engineering to improve and maintain data integrity required for production of
relevant, reliable, and accurate financial reporting
● Analyze and monitor actual and/or planned changes to the business (e.g. acquisitions), providing
management with insight on technical accounting considerations
● Assist Controller and other senior finance leadership team members to advance organization’s
strategic objectives
● Lead IPO readiness initiative
● Collaborate with the finance team to build annual budget and further Company’s strategic
objectives
● Lead financial statement audits, including preparation of footnotes and review of documentation
submissions in reply to auditor requests
● Support adhoc operational/systems initiatives and research, including identifying solutions for
deficiencies
What You Will Bring:
Education & Experience:
● BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent field
● Big 4 experience required
● CPA license required
● Minimum of 5 years relevant SEC reporting experience
Preferred:
● Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent field
● 7+ years of progressive experience in public company SEC reporting
● Prior experience leading an IPO readiness effort
● Microsoft Excel proficiency
● Demonstrate an ability to work independently, think critically, and execute well in a fast-paced
environment
● Effective and experienced communication and collaboration skills with colleagues in and outside the Accounting and Finance team
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
● Experienced preparing various SEC filings, including Form S-1, 10-Q and 10-K
● Communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing
● Strong analytical skills
● Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency
Preferred:
● Pre- and Post-IPO public company reporting experience
● Experience working with international subsidiaries reporting in local GAAP
● Startup, e-commerce / subscription business experience
● Familiarity with XBRL
● Experience with NetSuite
