AR/Billing Specialist
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our Corporate Finance team, reporting to the Assistant Controller. This individual will own our collections and billing process ensuring invoices and cash receipts are processed in a timely manner. You will also play a critical role during the month working closely with various stakeholders to ensure the accuracy of our accounts receivable and collecting on overdue invoices. This is a highly collaborative role that will require strong communication skills, as you will be the point-of-contact for all external and internal inquiries as they relate to receivables.
What you’ll do:
- Establish relationships with key customers, following-up frequently by phone and email on past due balances with a direct focus on minimizing 90+ aged balances, and lowering the DSO
- Focus on meeting monthly collection goals and targets
- Create and distribute invoices on a monthly basis and generate credit memos as needed
- Investigate, document and resolve customer billing discrepancies quickly and efficiently
- Generate weekly AR aging report with collection comments
- Drive collections process improvements
- Assist in analyzing historical customer payment trends in order to forecast cash collections
- Support Cash Applications team to ensure payments are posted to customer invoices correctly and accurately
- Maintain client contact sheet
- Reconcile customer AR accounts
- Provide support and prepare other ad hoc analyses and projects as needed
- Provide support for the annual financial statement audit, periodic internal audits, and other AR related requests
Knowledge, skills, & abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization as well as external clients
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills and strong Excel skills required
- Strong accounting knowledge of the accounts receivable process, including an understanding of debits and credits
- Detail-oriented with a high sense of urgency
- A proactive, self-directed approach with the ability to multitask, think creatively, and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to prioritize day to day responsibilities while ensuring timelines & deadlines are continuously met
- Salesforce and Netsuite ERP experience a plus
