Team & Position Overview

The Accounting team manages all financial transactions in accordance with GAAP to ensure the integrity of financial statements in order for proper strategic business decisions to be made. To support the growth of the company, the accountant will be an essential addition to the accounting team in helping with payables/accounting transactions processing and maintaining necessary controls. This role reports to the Financial Controller.

 

The Mission/Outcomes and Objectives:

We want to send 3-D printed rockets to space! To help the company achieve this mission/goal, we need to make sure that our spending is on track. You will verify and process bills timely so that our vendors get paid according to established payment terms. Additionally, you will document financial transactions and help ensure the validity of such data for accurate reporting on budget vs actual burn.

Candidate Profile

You will be supporting accounts payable needs daily and assist the Controller with month end closes including monthly standard journal entries and reconciliations and other projects as assigned. You will need to be familiar with GAAP transactions and processes and work flows.

We expect you to have high integrity, a "can-do" attitude, teachability, and good communication skills. You have a team player mindset who takes a proactive approach. Ideally, you have experience in the Space Manufacturing industry where you have contributed to an ERP implementation and process automation.

Minimum Skills & Competencies

  • Bachelor degree in accounting/finance and 3 years of technical/hands-on accounting experience
  • Intermediate understanding of US GAAP
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Internal/external audit experience

Preferred Skills & Competencies

  • Space/manufacturing industry experience
  • ERP implementation involvement
  • ERP software experience
  • Process automation experience

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a United States Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required.
