Role Summary
The Executive Director, Digital Solutions
will lead the strategy, design, and delivery of next-generation digital solutions across member, client, pharmacy, and colleague ecosystems. This executive will drive CVS Caremark’s transformation into an AI-enabled, API-first digital platform by ensuring unified, accessible, and personalized experiences across web, mobile, and emerging channels. Partnering with product, engineering, design, and data teams, this leader will deliver measurable outcomes in engagement, NPS, digital adoption, and time-to-market.

Key Responsibilities

 

- Define and execute the end-to-end digital experience strategy aligned with enterprise digital goals and Caremark’s PBM modernization roadmap.
- Lead product-engineering pods focused on member, client, pharmacy, and agent digital journeys.
- Partner with Digital Platform and Architecture teams to deliver cohesive omni-channel experiences using modern frameworks (React, GraphQL, BFF).
- Integrate AI-powered features such as personalization, translation, and virtual assistants to elevate user engagement.
- Establish design-led development practices emphasizing UX, accessibility, and performance.
- Drive mobile and web delivery excellence while ensuring compliance with PHI, PII, and HIPAA standards.
- Build and scale high-performing cross-functional teams with a focus on craftsmanship, collaboration, and innovation.
- Collaborate with PBM business leaders and digital stakeholders to ensure digital experiences drive measurable business impact.

- Lead delivery of production-grade agentic solutions, not POCs.
- Ensure agents are embedded into real digital experiences (chat, IVR, portals, internal tools).
- Drive build-once, reuse-everywhere agent capabilities across channels and domains.

- Establish clear success metrics: task completion rate, autonomy %, error rate, escalation rate, cycle-time reduction.


Required Qualifications

- 15+ years of experience in digital solutions engineering or experience development.
- Proven success delivering large-scale consumer-facing digital platforms (10M+ users).
- Strong technical foundation: React / React Native, GraphQL, API-first architecture, cloud-native delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to lead distributed engineering and design teams (300+ globally).
- Expertise in accessibility (WCAG 2.2), usability, and cross-platform design systems.
- Understanding of healthcare or financial services regulatory requirements preferred.


Preferred Qualifications
• Experience building or operating in a highly matrix organization.
• Background in healthcare, payments, financial services, or other regulated domains.
• Experience transforming organization from traditional to AI drive organizational model at enterprise scale.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$175,100.00 - $334,750.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
