Pirates Wanted: Executive Assistant to the COO

We’re currently on the lookout for exceptional pirates to join our crew as an Executive Assistant to the COO otherwise known as an Executive Life Raft to us here at Pirate Ship. 

Pirate Ship makes shipping fun through a simple service that offers free access to the cheapest shipping rates available. Alongside your crewmates you’ll work with the founders of this eleven-year-old company. As Steve Jobs said, “It’s more fun to be a pirate than to join the navy,” and in this case the fun is disrupting the trillion-dollar shipping industry, making business more fun for the next generation of ecommerce startups.

Responsibilities:

  • Chart a course: Use your highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented skills to support our COO (and some support for the CEO as needed). 
  • Balanced buccaneering: Manage schedules, coordinate meetings, handle communication, and assist with various administrative tasks. 
  • Make it so easy a drunk monkey could do it: Create intuitive systems for optimal efficiency.
  • Keep it shipshape: Use your high standards of excellence to enhance the day to day of the COO.
  • Codify the process: Protect and defend the COO’s time and wellbeing both in and out of the business.
  • Navigate the seas: Coordinate domestic and international itineraries & travel, including booking flights & hotels, and ensuring that the COO is well-prepared during trips.
  • Support your crew: Communicate with external contractors, other stakeholders, and partner with the Office Manager and administrative team as needed. 
  • Splice the mainbrace: You’ll work collaboratively around a schedule that may include weekends, evenings, and some holidays.
  • Ride the seas of change: You’re comfortable in an environment where there’s lots of change.
  • Hoist the Jolly Roger: Share your experience, expertise and interest with the crew to enhance our fun and progressive culture.

Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of EA experience.
  • Excellent communication & time-management skills.
  • Executes with a laser focus on attention to detail and accuracy, coupled with flexibility, prioritization, and the ability to multitask.
  • Utilizes a proactive and enthusiastic approach, eager to help wherever possible, and willing to do whatever it takes to ensure progress while being friendly, collaborative, and approachable.
  • Proficient in Google Suite, project management tools, and virtual collaboration tools.
  • Maintains confidentiality.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Compensation - The pay range for this role is $135,000-$145,000 yearly USD plus a performance based bonus.
  • Vacation Time - We offer 144 hours of accrued vacation time to start to keep our pirates rested & rejuvenated! 
  • Paid Holidays - 12 paid holidays per year.
  • Paid Sick Time - 80 hours annually.
  • Ski Pass and Powder Clause - If you reside in Jackson, you’ll get a season pass to Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (or equivalent value in backcountry gear) and the expectation we won’t see you until noon when there’s more than 8” of fresh snow.
  • Medical Insurance - 100% covered for Pirates by the company and kicks in the first of the month after enrollment. If you want to add any dependents (spouse, partner or children), they’ll be 50% covered.
  • Dental and Vision -  100% covered for Pirates and 50% covered for dependents.
  • 401(K) - We offer a Traditional 401(K) and a Roth 401(K), and pirates who contribute 1-3% of their annual salary get matched 100% by the company.
  • Parental Leave - Full 12 weeks for parents for the birth, adoption, or foster placement of a child.
  • Home Office Reimbursement - We provide a one-time home office reimbursement of up to $1,500 to purchase an ergonomic desk and chair.
  • Other Stipends for Remote Individuals - Wifi & snacks, we’ve got y’er back!
  • Virtual Tacos for ARRrrrsome Rewards- “Hey Taco!” is our employee recognition program where you can give and receive virtual "Tacos" which can be redeemed for rewards.
