Aprés Nail is seeking an experienced Education Manager to lead and expand our professional education function. This role will shape how nail professionals learn the Aprés system, build confidence with our products, and continue developing their technical and business skills.

The Education Manager will be both a strategic leader and an active program owner: setting the direction for the department while developing curricula, managing online education, supporting educators, and ensuring programs are executed to a consistently high standard.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys building. The Education Manager will strengthen our existing programs, identify new educational opportunities, and develop a scalable education ecosystem that can grow alongside the Aprés brand.

Key ResponsibilitiesEducation Strategy and Department Growth
  • Develop and maintain a clear education strategy aligned with Aprés brand, product, and business priorities.
  • Evaluate the current education program and identify opportunities to expand its reach, effectiveness, and value to nail professionals.
  • Build an annual education roadmap encompassing online learning, certifications, product education, educator development, and other emerging opportunities.
  • Recommend new programs, partnerships, formats, and areas of investment based on learner needs, industry trends, and business potential.
  • Establish scalable processes, standards, and documentation that support the long-term growth of the function.
  • Develop program goals, budgets, timelines, and success measures, and communicate progress and recommendations to leadership.
Online Education and Curriculum Development
  • Lead the development and continued improvement of Aprés online education and LMS programming.
  • Translate technical nail knowledge and product information into structured, engaging, and accessible learning experiences.
  • Develop course objectives, curricula, lesson plans, assessments, instructor guides, demonstrations, and supporting educational materials.
  • Apply adult-learning and instructional-design principles to improve course comprehension, completion, and knowledge retention.
  • Manage the full course-development process from initial concept and content planning through production, LMS implementation, launch, and optimization.
  • Maintain an organized course catalog and ensure existing content remains accurate, current, and aligned with product and brand standards.
  • Use learner feedback and LMS performance data to identify opportunities to improve courses and the overall learning experience.
Educator Leadership and Development
  • Manage, support, and develop internal and external educators, including the department's part-time team member.
  • Establish clear educator expectations, training standards, teaching methodologies, and evaluation processes.
  • Create onboarding and ongoing development programs that strengthen educators' technical knowledge, presentation skills, and consistency.
  • Observe and evaluate education delivery, provide constructive feedback, and address performance or content gaps.
  • Assess future educator staffing and network needs as education programs expand.
  • Foster a collaborative, professional environment in which educators can share insights and continuously improve their craft.
Technical and Product Education
  • Partner with Product Team and internal technical experts to ensure all education is accurate, responsible, and aligned with approved product use.
  • Develop education supporting new product launches, core systems, troubleshooting, application techniques, and professional best practices.
  • Ensure technical information is communicated clearly and consistently across courses, educators, and educational materials.
  • Serve as a key education partner to Marketing, Creative, Sales, Customer Service, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Participate in demonstrations, trainings, events, or educational content production as needed.

Program Operations and Measurement
  • Manage education initiatives from planning through execution, including schedules, resources, contributors, deliverables, and approvals.
  • Establish and monitor meaningful performance indicators such as enrollment, course starts, completion rates, assessment results, learner satisfaction, and repeat participation.
  • Translate education data and participant feedback into actionable improvements.
  • Maintain accurate program records, materials, calendars, and reporting.
  • Ensure educational programs are executed on time, within budget, and to Aprés quality standards.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in professional education, curriculum development, instructional design, training, or learning-program management.
  • 2+ years of experience managing educators, trainers, instructors, contractors, or other education contributors.
  • Demonstrated experience developing online courses or blended-learning programs.
  • Working knowledge of learning management systems and the end-to-end digital course-development process.
  • Experience building structured curricula, learning objectives, assessments, and facilitator materials.
  • Strong project-management skills with the ability to manage multiple programs, contributors, and deadlines.
  • Excellent written, verbal, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to translate complex or technical information into clear, practical, and engaging instruction.
  • Experience using data and learner feedback to assess and improve educational programs.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in a growing, hands-on department.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically while personally driving work through completion.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the professional beauty, nail, cosmetology, or salon industry.
  • Active or previous nail technician or cosmetology license.
  • Hands-on familiarity with professional nail services, products, or salon workflows.
  • Experience with certification programs, continuing professional education, or skills-based technical training.
  • Experience producing educational video, live virtual instruction, or instructor-led training.
  • Experience developing multilingual or internationally scalable education.
  • Familiarity with authoring tools, course-production software, or LMS reporting and administration.

Licensure note: A nail or cosmetology license is strongly valued but is not required. Candidates without a license should demonstrate relevant experience developing credible technical education for professional, hands-on, or skills-based audiences.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
