Job Description

Zendesk is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of IT Finance to lead and develop a high-performing team dedicated to supporting critical financial processes, specifically focusing on Record to Report (R2R) and Source to Pay (S2P) value streams. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in finance technology, have extensive experience in optimizing financial processes, and foster collaboration across diverse teams and geographies.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop IT teams that support financial applications and processes related to Record to Report and Source to Pay. Foster a collaborative culture to encourage high performance across geographically distributed teams.

  • Value Stream Optimization: Design and implement scalable, efficient financial processes utilizing a value stream approach. This includes continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency within R2R and S2P areas to align with Zendesk's growth strategy.

  • Business Partnership: Serve as a strategic advisor to business leaders worldwide, ensuring that technology solutions align closely with company objectives. Provide insights and data-driven recommendations to support key company initiatives, enhancing decision-making processes.

  • Systems Transformation: Proven track record of leading large-scale ERP migrations and financial systems integrations to improve data integrity and organizational scalability.

  • Operational Innovation: Ability to architect and implement AI-driven automation strategies that streamline core financial processes, reducing manual overhead and accelerating reporting cycles.

  • System Oversight: Ensure seamless operation, integration, and enhancement of financial applications to meet changing business needs. Oversee compliance and best practices in financial systems management for R2R and S2P streams.

  • Project Management: Manage system implementations, upgrades, and integrations pertaining to financial technologies, conveying necessary updates and improvements to relevant stakeholders.

What You Bring to the Role:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field; an MBA or relevant certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) is preferred.

  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in finance systems, operations, or related roles, including at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.

  • Technical Expertise: Proven experience and knowledge of financial applications supporting R2R and S2P processes (e.g., ERP systems, financial planning tools, BI software). Familiarity with key finance and ERP systems such as Oracle, NetSuite, Adaptive, Blackline, Coupa, and/or others relevant to financial process management.

  • Team Development: Demonstrable experience in building and developing high-performing, globally distributed teams.

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and project management skills, with an ability to prioritize and drive projects towards successful completion.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a talent for effective collaboration across functions and geographies.

  • Agility: Experience driving scalability in fast-paced, high-growth environments, along with a solid understanding of Agile frameworks with the ability to develop and maintain frameworks and processes that provide clear visibility and transparency of the IT-finance roadmap and priorities to stakeholders.

  • Change Management: Proven ability to drive change and manage complex projects, including ERP re-platform initiatives.

The US annualized base salary range for this position is $170,000.00-$256,000.00. This position may also be eligible for bonus, benefits, or related incentives. While this range reflects the minimum and maximum value for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations, the offer for the successful candidate for this position will be based on job related capabilities, applicable experience, and other factors such as work location. Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only (or OTE for commissions based roles), and do not include bonus, benefits, or related incentives.

Hybrid: In this role, our hybrid experience is designed at the team level to give you a rich onsite experience packed with connection, collaboration, learning, and celebration - while also giving you flexibility to work remotely for part of the week. This role must attend our local office for part of the week. The specific in-office schedule is to be determined by the hiring manager.
