About This Role:
The Director, Information Technology leads Crexi’s IT efforts, shaping strategy, overseeing teams, and optimizing technology solutions to support the growth and success of our company. With a focus on corporate IT and security infrastructure design and management, this role ensures that technology drives business excellence and compliance.
What You’ll Do
- Provides leadership to the IT team, setting clear goals, objectives, and priorities.
- Oversees the day-to-day management and maintenance of corporate IT infrastructure, including end-user compute, office networks, SaaS tools, and corporate identity systems.
- Ensures the availability and performance of corporate IT systems and end-user services.
- Builds, mentors, and leads a high-performing IT team, fostering a culture of innovation, skill development, and accountability.
- Manages IT resources effectively and allocates them to support business priorities.
- Manages relationships with technology vendors and partners, including contract negotiations, performance evaluation, and strategic collaboration.
- Ensures vendor services align with business needs and standards.
- Oversees IT budgeting and financial planning, monitors expenses, and optimizes resource allocation.
- Identifies cost-saving opportunities and ensures adherence to budget constraints.
- Drives and participates in strategic IT initiatives, including corporate technology roadmaps and tooling improvements, and AI and automation adoption.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to execute these initiatives effectively.
- Ensures compliance with IT policies, procedures, and relevant standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO, SOC2), contributing to a strong IT governance framework.
- Evaluates and adopts AI and automation tools to improve operational efficiency, ensuring responsible and compliant use in alignment with company policy.
- Owns corporate security program, including endpoint protection, corporate identity and access management, physical security at HQ, the MSSP relationship, and security awareness and phishing programs.
Who You Are
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CIO, CISM, or similar) are preferred.
- At least 12 years of experience in senior IT roles with a focus on technology strategy and operations.
- Deep knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Mac) and basic scripting languages.
- Strong knowledge of corporate identity and SaaS platforms (e.g., Azure AD/Entra, Microsoft 365, MDM/endpoint management tools).
- Exceptional leadership skills, with a track record of building and managing high-performing IT teams.
- Expertise in IT infrastructure management and data protection.
- In-depth knowledge of emerging technologies — including AI, machine learning, and automation tools — and trends in the commercial real estate and technology sectors is preferred.
- Experience owning or supporting SOC 2 Type II audits, including control design, evidence collection, and auditor coordination.
- Background in corporate security operations, including endpoint security, identity and access management, and security vendor oversight.

The California base pay range for this position is $182,000 - $247,000 per year with eligibility for generous bonus, equity, and healthcare insurance. The total compensation package offered to a successful candidate will depend on several factors, which may include, but are not limited to, the type and length of experience applicable to the role and within the industry, job-related skills, job level, and geographic location.
