Description

VAST Data is building a new category — the Operating System for AI — unifying storage, database, virtualization, and AI services into a single software platform. The world's most innovative organizations rely on VAST to power AI factories, real-time analytics, and mission-critical applications at exabyte scale.

We are seeking a Head of Cloud Marketing to lead VAST's global cloud marketing strategy across hyperscalers, neoclouds, and emerging cloud providers. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for establishing VAST as the foundational data platform for the next generation of cloud and AI infrastructure.

This leader will own the global cloud marketing agenda, combining strategic positioning, executive evangelism, partner go-to-market programs, and demand generation to accelerate VAST's adoption across the cloud ecosystem.

A central priority will be developing and launching a global neocloud program designed to aggressively expand VAST's presence across AI-focused cloud providers. The role will also drive joint marketing initiatives with major hyperscalers and expand VAST's reach into emerging and sovereign cloud markets.

Reporting directly to the global marketing leadership team, this individual will lead a focused cloud product marketing function and orchestrate a cross-functional, global team spanning field marketing, demand generation, partner marketing, and program investment.

THE ROLE

  • Own Global Cloud Marketing Strategy: Develop and execute VAST's worldwide marketing strategy across AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, Oracle Cloud, neoclouds, and sovereign cloud providers, driving awareness, market positioning, partner engagement, and adoption.
  • Build and Launch the Global Neocloud Program: Lead the marketing strategy and execution of a major neocloud initiative, including partner acquisition campaigns, promotional programs, market development funds (MDF), and scalable go-to-market motions designed to establish VAST across the global neocloud ecosystem.
  • Drive Hyperscaler Marketing and Joint GTM: Build strategic marketing programs with major hyperscalers, aligning messaging, co-marketing initiatives, partner campaigns, and field execution to accelerate pipeline and strengthen VAST's cloud market presence.
  • Lead Market Positioning and Executive Evangelism: Shape the narrative for VAST as the Operating System for AI across cloud environments. Serve as a visible market evangelist, developing thought leadership, executive messaging, industry engagement, and compelling value propositions for cloud providers and their customers.
  • Lead Cloud Product Marketing: Oversee cloud-focused product marketing, translating VAST's technical capabilities, roadmap, and partner integrations into differentiated positioning, solution messaging, sales enablement, and go-to-market programs.
  • Orchestrate Global Demand Generation: Lead a virtual team of regional field marketers and cross-functional partners to execute coordinated cloud campaigns across North America and international markets, ensuring measurable pipeline contribution and partner activation.
  • Own Program Strategy and Investment: Partner with Finance, Alliances, and Marketing leadership to structure and optimize cloud marketing investments, MDF programs, campaign budgets, and partner incentives, ensuring scalable execution and measurable business impact.
  • Build and Scale the Cloud Marketing Function: Develop a focused, high-performing organization, establishing clear priorities, cross-functional alignment, and a scalable operating model as VAST's global cloud business expands.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of B2B technology marketing experience, including significant leadership experience in cloud, enterprise infrastructure, AI platforms, or data technologies.
  • Proven cloud ecosystem expertise, with a strong understanding of hyperscaler partnerships, neoclouds, cloud service providers, and the evolving AI infrastructure landscape.
  • Demonstrated success building global partner marketing and GTM programs, including joint campaigns, partner activation, co-marketing, and market development initiatives.
  • Strong product marketing and technical credibility, with the ability to translate complex cloud architectures, AI infrastructure capabilities, and platform technologies into compelling market narratives and business value.
  • Executive presence and evangelism capabilities, including experience influencing senior technology leaders, representing a company externally, and shaping market perception through thought leadership and strategic communications.
  • Experience leading global, cross-functional teams, including direct reports and matrixed organizations spanning product marketing, field marketing, demand generation, and alliances.
  • Strong commercial orientation, with a track record of connecting marketing strategy and investment to partner adoption, pipeline creation, and revenue growth.
  • Entrepreneurial, builder mentality, with the ability to launch new programs, establish operating models, navigate ambiguity, and execute effectively in a fast-growing organization.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
