Position Title:  Deployment Strategist
Location: Remote with Travel to customer sites
Clearance Requirement: Top Secret with SCI Eligibility
Employment type: Full Time Exempt

Research Innovations, Inc. (RII) is breaking through the big, slow, status quo with transformative technology that fundamentally changes and improves the world. We develop cutting-edge software for all levels of the government and military. Using agile development practices and user-centered design, we create innovative software solutions for complex real-world problems.

We are seeking a high-impact Deployment Strategist to act as a bridge between the front lines of defense and our internal product teams. You will own the holistic mission of enabling our partners to win, identifying the true problems limiting their mission effectiveness, and decomposing these into actionable workflows. You are a facilitator, a technical translator, and a leader—responsible for turning institutional chaos into mission-enabling software products. This role requires an active US Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Lead on-site discovery and operational workflow mapping to translate Unified Network Operations (UNO) / Tactical Network Operations (TNO) SOPs, TTPs, and Operations Orders (OPORDs) into executable engineering briefs.

  • Identify high-value opportunities for Generative AI and low-code/no-code dashboards to streamline operational planning and mission-dependent network visualization.

  • Partner with Forward Deployed Engineers and subcontractor teams to coordinate the ingest, federation, and data modeling of specialized initialization data (IRIS), spectrum allocations (JRFL), and satellite authorizations (SAA/GAA).

  • Validate and deploy scalable software architectures and secure multi-echelon agent infrastructures (LNCC, DIV, BCT, and BNs) optimized across SBU-E, XLESS, and SIPR enclaves.

  • Lead high-impact training and unit installation support directly with operational forces, ensuring rapid adoption during major validation milestones and tactical exercise environments.

  • Present compelling demos, briefings, and technical proposals to audiences ranging from junior analysts to senior executive leaders.

  • Partner with senior stakeholders to assess opportunities for product development and employment against operational requirements.

WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

  • Applied systems engineering or technical coordination processes to map Statement of Need (SoN) requirements into agile product development, user stories, and system architecture artifacts .

  • Hands-on operational experience with network management, tactical communication frameworks, and command and control interoperability tools, including MAVEN, NGC2, INB2, Terminus, and Tactical Assault Kit (TAK).

  • Ability to solve open-ended problems in unstructured environments with a low-ego, mission-first mindset.

  • Proven track record authoring technical documentation, embedded system help, and configuration guides that enable novice operators to successfully install and maintain complex network software nodes.

EVEN BETTER

  • Advanced AI and technical skills, including experience with agentic workflows, RAG, vector databases, and model orchestration in air-gapped environments.

  • Prior military service as a senior NCO, Warrant Officer, or Commissioned Officer (especially in a technical leadership position at a DIV/BCT or higher level).

  • Familiarity with tactical network planning tools, cryptographic key management (COMSEC), and constructing logical or geographic Network Common Operational Pictures (NetCOP)

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
