Moog’s Military Aircraft Group is seeking a Data Management Analyst to join their team!


The Data Management Analyst is an experienced individual contributor who works independently with limited supervision to advance data governance, organizational change management, and data fluency across the MAG Business Modernization Program (BMP).  In partnership with the Data Management Business Partner and functional stakeholders, this role defines data needs, analyzes and visualizes data, promotes adoption of governance practices, and translates business questions into actionable insights.  The analyst may also lead defined components of data management and analytics projects, processes, or programs. 


This role offers a first shift, onsite schedule at either our East Aurora, NY or Torrance, CA locations.


The salary for this position is based on the candidate's geographic location, which is determined by the cost of labor and cost of living in their area. The pay ranges are set according to the following zones: 


              Zone 1 (East Aurora, NY)

    • Annual Salary: $105,000-$125,000K

Zone 2 (Torrance, California)

    • Annual Salary: $120,000-$140,000K

Key responsibilities include:

  • Partner with the Data Management Business Partner to deploy data governance practices, organizational change management activities, and data fluency initiatives across the business.
  • Define and document business data requirements, data quality needs, and reporting and analytics use cases in partnership with functional stakeholders.
  • Collect, prepare, clean, analyze, and visualize data sets to identify patterns, trends, risks, and opportunities that support business decision-making.
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and analytical outputs that translate data into clear insights and actionable recommendations for business users.
  • Support data governance adoption by helping business teams understand and apply data standards, ownership and stewardship responsibilities, and process expectations.
  • Contribute to organizational change management and communication activities that increase awareness, adoption, and effective use of data management practices.
  • Communicate insights, recommendations, and data governance expectations to technical and non-technical stakeholders within and outside the function.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency, consistency, and automation of recurring data analysis, reporting, and data management processes.

 

Depending on the scope of the assignment, the role may also:

  • Lead defined components of data governance, organizational change management, and data fluency initiatives in partnership with the Data Management Business Partner and business stakeholders.
  • Independently develop analytical models and advanced visualizations when needed to address complex business questions, identify trends and patterns, and improve decision-making.
  • Solve complex data or process problems by applying advanced data management and analytics knowledge and adapting established methods or solutions to new business contexts. 
  • Provide analytical inputs for broader data science, data mining, process improvement, or transformation initiatives as needed.
  • Coordinate, coach, guide, or review the work of contributors within assigned projects, processes, or programs while maintaining independent responsibility for assigned deliverables.  
  • Implement scalable solutions that improve the efficiency, consistency, and automation of recurring data analysis, reporting, and data management processes.

 

To be considered for this role, here’s what you’ll typically need to bring with you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, business analytics, computer science, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • Plus a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in data analytics, business intelligence, data management, data governance, or a related field.
  • Advanced knowledge of data analytics concepts, methods, and principles, including requirements definition, data preparation, analysis, modeling, visualization, and interpretation.
  • Ability to connect analytics concepts and data management practices to broader business processes, stakeholder needs, and decision-making priorities.
  • Experience working independently on defined components or entire projects, processes, or programs with minimal guidance and review at critical points.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to engage parties within and outside the function and explain data concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex data or process problems by applying advanced data management and analytics knowledge and adapting established methods or solutions to new business contexts.
  • Travel: Less than 10%

It would be great if you also had:

  • Experience supporting ERP, MES, or enterprise platform modernization programs.
  • Familiarity with structured delivery methods (e.g., waterfall-hybrid, agile-hybrid, stage-gate).
  • Experience with data, analytics, and reporting platforms such as Databricks, SQL Server, Power BI, Power Apps, or similar tools.
  • Experience working in manufacturing, aerospace, or other operationally complex environments.

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $105,000.00–$140,000.00 Annually

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
