The Data Platforms Engineering team within our Enterprise Data Office builds and integrates large-scale cloud data services into cohesive products and platforms. These platforms enable teams across the business to build, consume, and distribute data products at scale. Within Data Platforms Engineering, the Data Consumer Experience team brings together our standard reporting, advanced analytics, and data governance tools so consumers can confidently put those data products to work.

As the Data Engineering Manager for Data Consumer Experience, you’ll play a significant role in helping data consumers put Capital Group’s data strategy into practice. You will lead a team that integrates vendor tools, validates how open-source analytics software operates across our platforms, and keeps our consumer ecosystem healthy, governed, and scalable for thousands of users each day. You’ll also partner with business leaders across the firm to shape how these tools are used to generate business insights.

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, math, or related technical field
  • You have at least 10 years of experience in a combination of software engineering and data engineering, reporting, and analytics
  • You’ve led data engineering and/or technical teams and are perceived as a mentor/coach     
  • You have proficiency in the following technologies: Python, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Databricks, and Terraform
  • You have demonstrated success influencing stakeholders and setting expectations on best practices and operational excellence  
  • You have experience with vendor management, understanding and keeping them accountable to their roadmaps, while also lining up your own with theirs
  • You have experience building cloud infrastructure (AWS cloud services) and managing the delivery of complex projects

Charlotte Base Salary Range: $173,072-$276,915

Southern California Base Salary Range: $201,683-$322,693

San Antonio Base Salary Range: $165,800-$265,280

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital’s annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
