THE OPPORTUNITY:

We’re looking for a strategic, action-oriented community leader. You’ll define what community means at Brisk and build it into a connected, thriving ecosystem that educators can’t find anywhere else. You’ll own Brisk’s core community spaces and design unique experiences that drive engagement, advocacy, and growth.

This role blends vision and execution: you’ll set strategy, create programming, and roll up your sleeves to make it real. You’ll think holistically about how our educators discover us, connect with each other, deepen their skills, and become passionate advocates for Brisk. But you won’t stop there! You’ll design and lead the lifecycle of our entire community, mapping how these spaces connect and grow together, and identifying new, differentiated ways to expand our reach and impact in a crowded edtech space.

To succeed, you’ll need both the fast-paced, scrappy instincts of a SAAS AI startup marketer and the deep empathy and understanding of educators to build something that feels authentic, valuable, and irreplaceable. You’ll also bring an on-stage presence, comfortable hosting live and virtual events, leading professional development sessions, recording videos, and bringing energy that draws people in.

Strategic Community Leadership at Brisk

Lead the vision, strategy, and growth of Brisk’s educator community. Your work will transform our three community spaces into powerful engines for engagement, loyalty, and word-of-mouth growth.

What you’ll own:

  • Define the long-term vision for Brisk’s educator community and bring it to life as a connected, high-value ecosystem.

  • Build a clear lifecycle for how educators discover, join, and move between community spaces, maximizing retention and engagement at every step.

  • Set measurable goals for each space and for the ecosystem as a whole, tracking growth, engagement, and advocacy.

Core Community Spaces:

  • Facebook Group: Design and lead a growth strategy that turns our Facebook Group into the go-to daily hub for educators using AI - where discussions are lively, insights are shared freely, and Brisk becomes part of teachers’ everyday routines.

  • AI Professional Courses: Build out our free AI training programs into a flagship Brisk experience - continually evolving the content, format, and delivery to be the most valuable, engaging, and widely recommended PD in education.

  • Club Brisk: Grow and energize our ambassador program into a thriving, self-sustaining network where our top Brisk educators are actively engaging, sharing, and inspiring others to use Brisk.

Success in this role means:

  • Brisk’s community spaces are the most engaged, fastest-growing educator hubs in edtech.

  • Teachers actively share Brisk in their networks and bring it into their schools without prompting.
Each community space has a clear identity, purpose, and value educators can articulate in one sentence.

  • Brisk champions and ambassadors are driving real adoption in schools and districts.

  • Educator stories, wins, and expertise are shared widely across Brisk’s channels.

YOU WILL:

Growth & Engagement

  • Create and execute community growth strategies that scale Brisk’s educator reach.

  • Design programs that turn members into active advocates, with clear pathways from first touch to Brisk champion.

  • Monitor engagement data and feedback, making fast, strategic adjustments to keep momentum high.

Programming & Differentiation

  • Build unique, stand-out experiences in each community space - activities, challenges, and collaborations exclusive to Brisk.

  • Create cross-community connections so teachers move fluidly between Facebook, PD courses, and Club Brisk.

  • Ensure every space has a clear identity, purpose, and value proposition that educators can articulate instantly.

Storytelling & Visibility

  • Identify and showcase teacher success stories across posts, videos, and live events.

  • Partner with marketing to integrate educator voices into Brisk’s broader brand presence.

  • Elevate community-generated content into wider campaigns that boost awareness and credibility.

Professional Development & Events

  • Build and maintain an evolving library of AI teaching resources to support Brisk users at every stage.

  • Lead Brisk’s YouTube strategy for tutorials, feature spotlights, and classroom success stories.

  • Confidently host in-person and virtual events, from community meetups to webinars to PD sessions, you’ll bring energy, warmth, and clarity that engage and inspire.

  • Represent Brisk at major conferences, securing speaking opportunities, hosting community meetups, and amplifying educator-led sessions.

YOU HAVE:
  • At least 4 years of community marketing experience.

  • Self-starter with strategic vision - you anticipate needs, identify opportunities, and take action without being asked.

  • Proven experience building and growing educator or professional communities, including from the ground up.

  • Strong balance of long-term strategic thinking with hands-on execution.

  • Skilled at building authentic relationships with educators and inspiring engagement.

  • Data-informed mindset with the ability to set measurable goals and iterate quickly.

  • Creative marketer at heart - comfortable experimenting with new ideas, social trends, and viral moments.

  • Natural, confident communicator who thrives in live settings, on video, and in front of an audience.

  • Experience in a venture-backed startup.

Equal Employment Opportunity & Diversity

At Brisk, we believe that diverse perspectives make better teams and stronger products. We are an equal opportunity employer and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, national origin, veteran status, disability, or any other legally protected status.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
