About Megaport
We’re not your typical tech company – and we don’t want to be. Megaport is the global leader in Network as a Service (NaaS), and has transformed the way businesses connect to the cloud, data centers, and each other. We’re publicly listed on the Australian Stock Exchange and partnered with the biggest names in tech like Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Oracle, IBM, and more. Headquartered in Brisbane with a crew of over 600 people spread across Asia-Pacific, Europe, and the Americas, our employees enjoy an environment that is collaborative, supportive, and (actually) fun.

Our Team Culture
We’re a team of problem solvers, pixel pushers, code slingers, and cloud fanatics. Culture is more than a poster on the wall here – collaboration beats hierarchy, curiosity fuels our growth, and everyone’s voice matters. We take our work seriously, but not ourselves. We work across time zones to execute on our global vision, trust each other to get things done, and never compromise our values for commercial gain. Most importantly, we place our customers at the center of everything we do.

We’re committed to increasing representation in the tech industry and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. Don’t meet every requirement? That’s okay. If you’re excited about this role, we encourage you to apply.

The Role

The Commercial Analytics Leader serves as the primary strategic interface between commercial leadership and the organization's data, analytics, and data-science capabilities. This role connects trusted data, technical analytics, and business strategy to accelerate execution. The Leader makes accurate commercial intelligence continuously available, understandable, and actionable across core and expansion sales motions.

Focused on enhancing sales performance, revenue reporting, and commission-attainment metrics, the role will progressively expand into predictive analytics, commercial optimization, AI-powered intelligence, and governed self-service capabilities. This role will move the business beyond static reports and dashboards with an on-demand commercial intelligence engine that connects data and insights to recommendations for better decisions and measurable business outcomes.

The ideal candidate brings a builder's mindset to establish trust and reliability, standardization and scale, and continuously improve how the organization discovers and acts on commercial intelligence. Combining commercial leadership, analytical rigor, technical fluency, and the ability to influence decisions across organizational boundaries, this person translates sophisticated analytical outputs into clear business implications and practical recommendations.

What You'll Be Doing

     Commercial Intelligence Strategy and Roadmap

  • Define and own the commercial analytics strategy, roadmap, and operating standards across brands, products, regions, and commercial motions.

  • Translate executive priorities and commercial objectives into a prioritized portfolio of analytical capabilities, business questions, and measurable outcomes.

  • Establish the progression from reliable descriptive performance reporting to diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive AI-enabled decision intelligence.

  • 2. Commercial Performance Metrics and Reporting Architecture

  • Own the commercial architecture and governance of RevOps performance reporting, including metric definitions, calculation rules, analytical views, reporting standards, and management cadences.

  • Build a coherent reporting framework based in Salesforce, collaborating with Power BI, billing sources and finance systems, marketing systems, and other relevant commercial data tools.

  • Reduce duplicated calculations, conflicting reports, spreadsheet dependencies, and legacy dashboards through standardized, reusable analytical assets.

  • 3. Data Integrity, Reliability, and Analytical Trust

  • Partner with RevTech, Data Engineering, Data Science, Finance, and source-system owners to validate analytical logic, reconcile discrepancies, identify data gaps, and resolve recurring quality issues.

  • Establish appropriate standards for data freshness, reconciliation, completeness, lineage, calculation validation, change management, and issue escalation.

  • Make analytical reliability, traceability, and business confidence measurable operating priorities.

  • 4. Business Translation and Executive Decision Support

  • Translate complex data and analytical outputs into concise narratives connecting performance, drivers, implications, recommendations, actions, and outcomes.

  • Serve as a trusted analytical partner to Sales and GTM Leadership, RevOps, Customer Success, Marketing, Finance, Product, and Strategy.

  • Support business reviews, forecasting, strategic planning, and other commercial decisions.

  • 5. Revenue Performance and Commercial Optimization

  • Analyze performance across new-logo acquisition, pipeline conversion, account expansion, cross-sell, renewals, channel partnerships, and other relevant revenue motions.

  • Identify the drivers of attainment, forecast variance, sales productivity, deal velocity, customer growth, and revenue leakage.

  • Evaluate trends to uncover growth opportunities and execution constraints.

  • 6. AI-Powered Analytics and Decision Intelligence

  • Partner with RevTech and Data Science to make governed commercial metrics and contextual business definitions accessible to approved AI tools, analytical agents, and natural-language interfaces.

  • Ensure AI-generated conclusions are grounded in approved data and metric definitions, with safeguards against unsupported conclusions and unauthorized data access.

  • 7. Self-Service Analytics and Commercial Adoption

  • Develop governed self-service analytical capabilities that allow business users to answer common questions independently without creating competing versions of the truth.

  • Design analytical experiences around the decisions users need to make, embedding insights into existing commercial workflows where practical.

  • Establish standards for metric interpretation, analytical literacy, documentation, access, training, and responsible use.

  • 8. Cross-Functional Governance and Continuous Improvement

  • Identify upstream process, integration, data-model, and instrumentation improvements required to strengthen the analytical foundation.

  • Coordinate delivery across commercial stakeholders, RevTech, Data Engineering, Data Science, Finance, and Technology without duplicating their functional responsibilities.

  • Continuously improve the speed, consistency, reliability, accessibility, and business impact of commercial intelligence.

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in commercial analytics, revenue analytics, business intelligence, statistical analyses, or a closely related analytical discipline, including substantial ownership of business-facing analytics.

  • Demonstrated success translating complex commercial data into executive-level recommendations and measurable business improvements.

  • Experience designing governed metrics, scalable reporting architectures, or equivalent frameworks that support consistent reporting across multiple systems and stakeholder groups.

  • Strong understanding of B2B revenue operations, CRM data, pipeline and forecast management, sales compensation and commission attainment, customer lifecycle metrics, and expansion revenue.

  • Practical proficiency with SQL and Power BI or comparable enterprise tools; familiarity with Python or R, statistical analysis, data modeling, pacing, and predictive modeling/forecasting.

  • Experience partnering with Data Engineering and Data Science to validate data pipelines, analytical models, business rules, and model outputs.

  • Demonstrated ability to establish data governance, metric definitions, reconciliation standards, reporting controls, and trusted self-service analytics.

  • Strong executive communication, stakeholder management, structured problem-solving, and change leadership skills.

What We Offer

  • Birthday Leave
  • Flexible working environments
  • Generous study and training allowance + 5 days paid study leave
  • Creative, fun, and contemporary workspaces
  • A motivated team of industry experts and new talent
  • Celebrated success with ‘Legend’ and ‘Kudos’ Awards
  • Health and wellness program
  • Opportunities for career growth and potential for global intra-company transfers for interested candidates.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
