The Opportunity

FutureSight is seeking a Co-Founder & CEO to lead Weli, a B2B WealthTech venture. This is a co-founder partnership with meaningful founder equity, not a salaried executive role.

Weli is an AI-native operations platform purpose-built for wealth management firms. It plugs directly into the CRM, portfolio management, and custodian systems firms already run, and executes the back-office work behind every account, account opening, money transfer, trade coordination, and compliance routing. Every wealth management firm already staffs an Operations function to do this work, typically at a ratio of roughly one Operations person to every three advisors, and that function is chronically stretched: slow, error-prone, and unable to give any single advisor's book the full attention it deserves. Weli is built for the firm's back office.

Market Context

Weli's customers are independent and hybrid RIAs, firms built around senior advisors who own their own client books and lean on a small, shared operations team to execute everything behind the scenes. It's a large and fast-growing world. There are roughly 300,000 wealth and financial advisors in the US, and the independent channel has been on a two-decade climb, from under a fifth of the industry's assets in 2007 to 27% today, on track for nearly a third by 2028.

Growth is outpacing the operations layer built to support it. The industry's leading benchmarking study found 78% of RIA firms were actively hiring last year just to keep up with capacity constraints, and most firms add a full new hire for every $360,000 of revenue growth, an expensive, linear way to scale a business that should compound. In our own interviews, one managing partner put a number on it directly: his firm could roughly triple its assets under management with its current advisor headcount if operations could keep pace. That gap, real, quantifiable, and largely unaddressed by today's AI tools, is Weli's opportunity.

  • A true co-creation model in which you operate as CEO with FutureSight’s cross-functional team as your partner
What You’ll Own

As Co-Founder & CEO, you will set the venture's direction and lead its execution.

  • Product — Partner with the FutureSight product and engineering team to ship V1 and iterate on user feedback
  • Capital — Lead the seed raise, supported by FutureSight's network and traction
  • Team — Recruit and lead a cohesive founding team, and establish the cultural foundation of the company
Co-Founder Profile
  • Previous founding experience at a venture-backed company
  • Demonstrated success in B2B SaaS go-to-market, including sales and customer engagement
  • Fundraising fluency, with the ability to develop investor narratives and close capital
  • Proven ability to attract, develop, and retain top talent
  • Clear-eyed understanding of the risks and demands of co-founding a venture-backed company
  • Direct exposure to wealth management, RIA operations, and financial services compliance, with the credibility and relationships to navigate the industry's regulatory landscape and sell into established firms
How to Apply

Please submit your resume, LinkedIn profile, and a brief note on why this venture aligns with your goals as a founder. We will move quickly for the right candidate.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
