Overview

This is an intermediate-level cloud administration role focused on providing daily operational services while working to grow storage and virtualization infrastructure administration skills and knowledge. This role centers on processes including cloud technology administration and troubleshooting, creating and maintaining process documentation, communication, collaboration, training, and mentoring. Daily team and client interaction will be expected. 

Responsibilities
  • Support, manage, maintain, and monitor cloud infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, availability, and security. 
  • Troubleshoot storage and virtualization technologies at an intermediate to advanced level. 
  • Perform storage array maintenance tasks such as adding and expanding LUNs, hardware troubleshooting, snapshot scheduling, creating NAS file shares, and managing replication. 
  • Perform life cycle tasks such as array upgrades, deprovision, builds and QA.   
  • Provide high-quality customer service aligned with TierPoint Core Values. 
  • Respond to storage-related alerts, escalations and major incidents in a timely manner. 
  • Create and maintain technical documentation. 
  • Collaborate with peer teams to resolve complex issues and ensure service continuity. 
  • Manage the ticket queue and provide timely and informative updates. 
  • Partner with clients to come up with strategic solutions to recurring problems. 
  • Contribute to on-call rotation. 
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • 3 years of experience in an IT infrastructure administration role. 
  • Intermediate knowledge of storage technology, including iSCSI and fibre channel connectivity, CIFS/NFS, RDMs, and NAS.  
  • Intermediate understanding of virtualization platforms and concepts 
  • Proficient in general IT infrastructure troubleshooting and a logical thought process. 
  • Familiarity with with PowerShell or other automation tools.  
  • Intermediate understanding of High Availability and Disaster Recovery concepts. 
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to own issues/projects and see them through to their resolution.  
  • Excellent client management skills including clear written and verbal communication.   
  • Basic understanding if security and compliance best practices. 
  • Conceptual understanding of backups and restores. 
  • Ability to recognize when to escalate to senior staff or leadership. 
  • Strong documentation skills for creating KBs, runbooks, infrastructure topology, etc. 
  • Team oriented, driven to communicate and work with all the teams, willing to jump in to assist with issues and projects.

It’s important to note the pay range may be narrower than displayed, as various factors are used to determine the offered compensation package including skill set, level of experience, geographic locations, and other relevant factors- i.e. budgetary requirements.Pay Range $82,114.99- $123,172.49
